Okay, maybe that wasn’t in the book, but it’s still true! Call us today at (260) 627-2619 and let one of our mechanics get your filters back to their intended use! (Maybe they can offer those mice a cookie instead)🐁🐭🍪

Jim’s Auto Care is a proud sponsor of Phi Rho Racing! 🏎️

Phi Sigma Rho, founded at Purdue University in 1984, is a sorority for women in STEM. Our chapter is proud to be the only sorority on campus with its own race kart and one of the few purely female-led teams competing in Purdue’s Grand Prix.

As Scott’s daughter, Jim’s Auto Care has always been a huge part of my life. While I’m pursuing biomedical engineering and may not be following my family’s exact automotive path, I’m incredibly proud of my blue-collar, hardworking, hands-on roots, and love to connect with them through Grand Prix.

This year, I serve as Finance Chief and Lead Mechanic, and next year I’m honored to become Crew Chief. My goal is to lead a team of strong, driven women to the main race and demonstrate the work ethic and determination instilled in me by my family.

As our kart continues to age and competition grows, we’re raising funds for a new kart to stay competitive and continue representing women in STEM.

We would greatly appreciate your support. Any amount helps.

Ten years ago today, we lost one of our founders and beloved family member, James “Jim” Hinkle. Jim acquired the business, formerly a Sunoco station, alongside his wife, RoseAnn, in 1968, laying the foundation for what would become Jim’s Auto Care.

Jim was an incredible automotive technician, a devoted father, grandfather, and husband, and an all-around remarkable human being. From volunteering as a firefighter to helping neighbors and customers get safely back on the road, Jim was always willing to lend a hand wherever it was needed. Outside of the shop, he had a deep love for antique and classic cars, fishing, and, of course, going on Putt-Putt trips with his granddaughter.

Following his passing, funds were raised in his honor for the Grabill Volunteer Fire Department, a cause that reflected his lifelong commitment to serving others.

To this day, we strive to do what Jim would have done, carrying his values, work ethic, and care for the community forward into Jim’s Auto Care 2.0. He will be deeply missed, but more importantly, he will always be remembered for the amazing man he was and the legacy he left behind.

Thank you, Jim, for everything you built, taught us, and continue to inspire everyday. ❤️

The Harlan 500 Bump and Run is going down this Thursday, July 31st at 7:00 PM, and we’re coming back twice as strong this year!

We’re proud to have two cars on the track, including last year’s champ Collin Hile, who’s returning to defend his title in the same car he took to victory lane in 2024! Joining him this year is Alex Zimmerman, driving for us for the first time and ready to make a name for himself on the track!

For over five years, we’ve been proud to donate and repair cars for various exciting, family-friendly Harlan Days events! We supply the cars and cover all repairs, but the work doesnt end there. The real work happens in the hands of our drivers, as they strip out the glass, remove the airbags, and make every modification needed to meet safety standards and track rules. It takes a lot of heart, grit, and elbow grease to get to the track.

Cars that don’t survive the race don’t go to waste. They’re donated to local fire stations to help first responders practice door extractions and rescue training for real-life car accidents. So even after the checkered flag waves, these cars keep serving a purpose!

Come cheer on our team and catch all the metal-bending, dirt-flying action this Thursday night at Harlan Community Park! See you at the track! 🏁
