Yesterday we witnessed an outpouring of love and support for Captain Adam Kuspa.
We’ve heard amazing tributes to Adam from firefighters and friends all week! Adam’s brother, Jason, bartended at the pub for about 5 years and his family is part of our family. We were given permission to share a story that touched our hearts.
Kuspa along with Nick Hintz and Jason Culp helped to build Rescue 1 (pictured). It was Adam’s baby and he was proud to have played a massive role in equipping a fire engine as he saw fit. A few weeks ago, Adam was on leave for an injury when he was promoted to Captain. While the engine has been in service for several years, Adam never had the chance to ride on Rescue 1 in his new role of Captain…until yesterday. The guys at the firehouse made a way for the truck to hold his casket. CAPTAIN Kuspa made his first and last ride on Rescue 1 as firefighters from all over escorted him to his final resting place. What a beautiful way to honor their brother.
To build a life that touches so many people, to be so well loved, that’s truly special.
Rest easy, Captain Adam Kuspa. Our hearts are with the Kuspa family and our firefighters as they heal from this loss.
