Just some still images of the fog test

Here’s a sneaky spot that can easily be missed—even during a fog test.
On some motorhomes, dirt, soot, and road dust can enter through hidden openings in the rear of the coach. If these areas aren’t carefully inspected and sealed, contaminants can make their way inside over time.

That’s why we don’t just perform a fog test—we know where to look for the places that often get overlooked.

Sometimes the smallest leaks are the hardest to find, but they can cause the biggest headaches.

This is just our opinion

Adding extra tension to a slide topper may seem like a good way to keep water from pooling, but it can actually cause bigger problems. Too much tension puts excessive stress on the awning rail, which can eventually pull it loose from the coach. Once that happens, water can get behind the rail and create leaks and water intrusion inside the RV.

Sometimes the fix that seems to solve one problem ends up creating a much more expensive one. If your slide topper is holding water, it’s better to find the root cause than simply add more tension.

Man, that’s a lot of fog! 😳
People always ask how much fog our machine puts out during a test, so here you go!

On Tiffin coaches, we use this fog test to help locate areas where dirt, dust, and soot are being pulled into the rear of the coach while you’re driving. The machine fills the coach with a harmless fog, making it easy to see where air is escaping—and where contaminants are getting in.

This video isn’t showing a fire… it’s simply showing our fog machine doing exactly what it’s designed to do. It’s an incredibly effective way to track down hidden air leaks and intrusion points that are almost impossible to find any other way.

Franklin Sensors Digital Contractors level with light indicator.

Here’s a really cool little gadget we’ve been using!

We picked these leveling indicators up at Sam’s Club, and they’ve been a game changer. They light up red, yellow, and green so you can instantly see when your RV is level.

We use two of them—one for side-to-side and one for front-to-back—and it makes leveling the coach a one-person job. No more running back and forth checking bubble levels or guessing. Just watch the lights and stop when they turn green.

It’s a simple, inexpensive tool that saves time and makes setup a whole lot easier. Just wanted to share it with y’all today!
