Your reinsurance company can grow as your dealership grows.

Here’s the simple version:
The more vehicles you sell, the more opportunities you have to sell F&I products like service contracts and GAP.

When those products flow through your dealer-owned reinsurance company, money is set aside to cover future claims.

As you sell more contracts, that pool of money can grow too.

Over time, your dealership has the opportunity to build reserves, earn investment income, and keep potential underwriting profits.

More contracts can mean more long-term value being built behind your dealership.
That’s how dealer-owned reinsurance can become part of your growth strategy.

Every F&I claim paid at your dealership is part of a bigger financial picture. Do you know who benefits from the money that’s left?

F&I products are structured with funds set aside to cover future claims. When claims and eligible expenses are lower than the funds available, there can be underwriting profit remaining.

If your dealership uses a traditional third-party provider, your dealership may earn its F&I margin at the time of sale, while someone else participates in the financial results that happen afterward.

With dealer-owned reinsurance, eligible dealers have an opportunity to participate in those results and build additional long-term value from the F&I products they already sell.

Whether you’re BHPH or franchise, it’s worth understanding where your F&I dollars go after the sale.

Want to see what that could look like for your dealership? Send us a DM to start the conversation.

Every Vehicle Service Contract your dealership sells can create value after the sale.

With a traditional provider, much of that value stays with them. Dealer-owned reinsurance may allow eligible dealers to benefit from reserve growth, investment income, and underwriting profits.

You already sell the VSCs. Make sure you understand where the money goes next.

Who controls the funds in a dealer-owned reinsurance company?

A Trust Company holds the reserve funds.

This structure keeps money available for future claims while allowing the dealer’s reinsurance company to earn investment income.

For many dealerships, the process seems simple.

A warranty is sold.
The customer receives coverage.
The transaction is complete.

But behind the scenes, much more is happening.

Premiums are allocated, reserves are established for future claims, and the financial performance of the program begins to take shape.

Where those reserves are held and who participates in the underwriting results depends on how your warranty program is structured.

That's why understanding what happens after the sale is just as important as understanding the sale itself.

The more you know about your current program, the better equipped you'll be to evaluate whether it's supporting your dealership's long-term business objectives.
