Sometimes all it takes is one opportunity to change a life.

When Amy Roman shared her vision of creating a scholarship to help a deserving student pursue a college education, Mike Picore with Rate mortgage knew it was something worth exploring. He encouraged her to bring the idea to Jennifer Rose at Bighorn Toyota, Bill Deter at Bank of Colorado, and Alex Mondrigan at Alpine Bank. Together, we all agreed this was a cause worth supporting.

Amy created this scholarship to give someone the opportunity for a new beginning through education after persevering through life’s challenges.

We are proud to award this scholarship to Journey Watson of Yampa Mountain High School in recognition of her determination, resilience, and unwavering commitment to achieving her educational goals despite the obstacles she has faced.

Congratulations, Journey! We are honored to be a small part of your journey and look forward to seeing all you accomplish in the years ahead. 🎓✨

Since 1976, you’ve trusted us with your business, and that trust allows us to support organizations and events that make our valley such a special place to call home.

Thank you to our amazing Bighorn Toyota team members who volunteered their time and energy to help make this event a success. We are proud to stand alongside so many community-minded people who care deeply about our local schools and students.

A special thank you to Mike and Kristi Picore. Your vision to create the Glenwood Springs Education Fund has made a lasting impact on our teachers, schools, and future generations of students. What started as an idea has become a powerful force for good in our community.
