Some big restoration updates as well as general shop builds!
We get asked Weekly about doing more restoration work. Unfortunately, we have to turn a lot of it away because we have such a backlog. If you have never been through the restoration process then honestly we don’t want to be your first time. These classic restorations take a lot of time and A LOT of money and most have no clue what really goes into them.
For example, doing the teardown, rust repair, final fit and finish in metal work we are approximately 220 skilled labor hours in this K5 Blazer. I call them skilled hours because this is not something an entry level technician can come in and do to the level that it needs to be done in.
Add another 200-ish hours in bodywork/blocking, then paint materials ($5-7,000), paint time, wetsand/buffing then finishing it off with PPF on the whole thing and final reassembly.
With that being said, those that are ok with the timeframes and costs associated with the classic builds, we would love to take care of them for you as we are looking to grow our restoration department in both physical size (square footage) and in technicians.
