This vehicle came into Elite Auto Worx with rust and buildup inside the cooling system. We replaced the radiator, flushed the system, and refilled it with fresh coolant.

Coolant does more than prevent freezing—it helps control engine temperature and protects cooling-system components from corrosion. Over time, its protective additives wear out, allowing rust and deposits to develop.

Regular coolant service helps:

🚗🔧 KNOW YOUR VEHICLE: WHAT IS THE EVAP SYSTEM?

Ever wondered why your Check Engine Light comes on even though your vehicle seems to be running perfectly?

One common reason is a problem with the EVAP system.

⛽ What does the EVAP system do?

EVAP stands for Evaporative Emission Control System.

Its job is to prevent gasoline vapors from escaping into the atmosphere. Instead of allowing those vapors to vent into the air, your vehicle stores them in a charcoal canister and later sends them into the engine to be burned.

Your vehicle’s computer constantly monitors the EVAP system for leaks and proper operation.

⚠️ Why can it turn on the Check Engine Light?

Even a very small leak can trigger a warning.

Common causes include:

🔹 Loose or damaged gas cap
🔹 Cracked EVAP/vapor lines
🔹 Damaged or rusted fuel/vapor lines
🔹 Faulty purge valve
🔹 Faulty vent valve
🔹 Cracked charcoal canister
🔹 Wiring or electrical problems
🔹 Problems with the EVAP leak detection system

You may see codes such as:

P0440 – P0455 and other EVAP-related codes.

⚠️ Important: An EVAP code doesn’t automatically mean you need a new gas cap. Proper testing is needed to determine where the leak or failure actually is.
