Wrapping up the top end of the Luke Bogacki Motorsports 648 build! We relied on Brad and the gang at BAM Roller Lifters for a set of their .937 lifters using their DLC coated tool steel bushings. We went the route of his .210 offset intake to make room for the 1/2” straight Manton Pushrods. Trevor and his staff always go above and beyond trying to get us the last pieces to get ordered for an engine in a timely manner.

For the heads we machined up a set of our proprietary 16.5 Assassin BRODIX castings. This head is capable of spread port power in a conventional platform with a 2.500” intake valve and 1.825” exhaust.

We left the cylinder head parts in the hands of Manley Performance Products, Inc.. We use their titanium valves exclusively in these 16.5 packages and chose their titanium retainers, titanium valve locks, and spring locators for this build as well.

For the valve train we used our in house produced steel rocker kit using a 1.90/ 1.90 ratio with the DLC tip upgrade.

The cherry on top is the beautiful APD billet intake!

Now it’s off to the dyno!!

Congrats Jeff Serra on earning the TB50K win! Jeff powered through the field in the blown Overkill Motorsports machine using our 1450 Elite series carb and belt driven fuel system. Congrats!!!

Luke Bogacki Motorsports 648 16 degree build is moving along! A 10.400 BRODIX block is the foundation for this build. This one features their HIP treatment, a .400” raised 55mm cam tunnel, .937 lifter bores, and half filled water jackets.

The 4.875” stroke Callies Magnum crankshaft will be spinning a set of 6.800” Carrillo rods attached to a set of pistons from our friends at Wiseco Automotive. Vic and the Wiseco crew have played a huge part in the evolution of this piston program for our 16 degree Assassin heads. This set features a a 4.600” bore, 33cc dome, .205 wall tool steel pins, gas ports, and a 1mm/ 1mm/ 3mm ring package.

We left the guys at Melling Performance Parts in charge of the oiling duties for this job. Luke’s engine utilizes their billet high volume pump (10070-800ss) We opted for the low pressure spring in this build.

We put our heads together with the guys at COMP Cams to come up with some lobes for Luke that will make great power and still be easy on valve train parts with less than 1.00” lift.
