Trailer Technician

Purpose of the Job:

The Trailer Technician is responsible for maintaining and repairing large semi-trailers and tankers. Pay is based on experience.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Trailer Technician:

Complete Preventative Maintenance and State / Federal DOT inspections and repairs.
Clear documentation on work orders
Inspect trailers and perform repairs needed.
Safety & cleanliness compliance.
Maintain company service trucks and other shop work areas.
Performs other related duties as assigned or otherwise required.
QUALIFICATIONS:

High School Diploma or GED
Attention to detail
Thermo King or Carrier Certified, ideal
DOT Certifification mandatory within 6 months
Excellent verbal communication skills & organization skills.
Ability to work independently without direct supervision
Ability to meet deadlines, prioritize workloads and handle multiple tasks
Run diagnostic tests on vehicles
The duties and responsibilities of this position are performed with latitude for independent judgment and action based on knowledge of laws, regulations, policies, procedures, and professional standards. All staff needs to be highly organized and communicate effectively, as they will be expected to maintain detailed service records.

Job description
3 DAY WEEKENDS every other weekend.

Week One: Monday, Tuesday, Friday, Saturday (12-hour shifts)

Week Two: Sunday, Wednesday, Thursday (12-hour shifts)

The following duties are normal for this job:
Clean the interior and exterior of large equipment.
Take photos
Create invoices
Light cosmetic repairs
Drive skid steer
Fuel trailers
Talk with drivers
An ideal candidate is a person who works well with people.
Keep a clean and safe work environment.
Overnight hours are primarily clerical; however, you occasionally help customers in the work bay.
