Cabin air filters play a major role in the air that flows through your vehicle’s interior. As outside air enters the HVAC system, the filter traps dust, pollen, and debris before it reaches the cabin.
Over time, that buildup can restrict airflow, reduce AC performance, and cause foggy windows or unpleasant odors. Because there’s no warning light for a dirty cabin air filter, these symptoms are often mistaken for larger HVAC issues.
Most cabin air filters should be replaced every 12,000 to 20,000 miles, depending on driving conditions. It’s a small and often overlooked part, but one that has a big impact on comfort, visibility, and air quality.
