Quick story about Jeff. While I was managing another detail supply retail brand, jeff and I met as he was one of our customers. Jeff and I clicked and then man would bring me Burger King for lunch. We’d hang out at the Garage and talk details, cars, and life.

And Jeff was the very first person I ever talked to when it came to starting Dox’s Auto Lab! and the man had advice and as super supportive of the idea. That was almost 3 years ago. Dox Auto Lab was just an idea..

3 years later and Jeff currently lives in Tampa and purchased this Sorrento last week and immediately called us asking if we could get him in. We made it happen and the man drove over 12 hours round trip hours, over 2,000 miles… so WE could protect his new family vehicle.

Nowadays you’ll find “Detailers” on every corner and with the current conditions we live in economically - you can be sure more and more fly by night types will pop up daily - and when it comes to choosing one, we want to help you find the right one for you and your vehicles needs.

Here are a few of tips when choosing the right detailer for you.

1. Is licensed and fully insured. It is important to choose a detailer that has the full coverage to work on your vehicle. If anything happens to your vehicle when being serviced, you know your vehicle is safe and properly insured.

2. Reviews. It’s always best to check what other customers have experienced with the detailer you are choosing. You then can get a good idea if the detailer is right for you.

3. Offers a range of services. The best auto detailers will offer a wide range of services. Don’t feel like like you have to pick the most expensive package. You can talk to your detailer, and they’ll help you figure out which level of service would work best for you.

4. Experience with working on high-end vehicles. If you have a luxury vehicle, you don’t want just anyone to detail it. Look for a reputable detailer with extensive experience on luxury cars.

Have we picked up clients from other detailers/businesses? Yes. Have we lost any clients to other detailers/businesses? No. Not yet .
And I attribute that fact to us doing our job, all while treating our clients like family.

We don’t just detail, and or wash their vehicle and send them on their way… we educate them about the entire process, from beginning to end. We even communicate during the process keeping them informed of the progress we’re making, and or about anything discovered that they may not have previously known about - all the way through delivery.

Every client. Every time. We build, and or build upon the relatonships we have with our clients.

That’s what sets us apart.

I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again for the people in the back.. 📣

The only competition we have is with ourselves. If we lose a client, it’s because we didn’t do our job properly. If we gain a client.. it’s because someone else didn’t do theirs. 🤷🏻‍♂️

So what’s the definition of detailing?

In more or less words, car detailing is the process of restoring and protecting a vehicle’s interior and exterior to keep the condition as close to new as possible.

If you want your car to be protected from the elements and look super shiny, then you’ll need to detail it regularly.

But how often should you actually detail your car to get the best results?

Most cars should be fully detailed every 6-12 months and then maintained with a “maintenance detail” at least once per month to keep the vehicle in the best possible condition.
