🚗 HOW MANY TIMES DO WE ACTUALLY WIPE DOWN YOUR VEHICLE DURING A CERAMIC COATING? 🔥
Most people see the finished product — that deep gloss, mirror-like reflection, and beautiful ceramic-coated finish.
But what they don’t see is the HOURS of preparation and the number of times we go over every single panel to achieve those results!
Here’s what goes into our professional ceramic coating process. 👇
🧼 STEP 1: FULL DECONTAMINATION WASH
We start by thoroughly washing the vehicle, removing dirt, road grime, iron contamination, tar, and embedded contaminants.
Depending on the condition of the vehicle, this can involve 2–4 cleaning and decontamination passes before we even begin polishing.
✨ STEP 2: PAINT CORRECTION & POLISHING
This is where the real transformation happens!
During paint correction, we may perform multiple polishing stages to remove swirls, oxidation, and paint imperfections.
After each polishing stage, panels are wiped down to remove polishing residue and inspect the finish.
That’s another 2–4 wipe-downs per panel, depending on the correction required!
🧴 STEP 3: FINAL SURFACE PREPARATION
Before ceramic coating, the paint must be completely clean and free of polishing oils, residue, and contaminants.
We perform a dedicated panel-prep wipe-down, sometimes more than once, to ensure the coating can properly bond to the surface.
That’s another 1–2 wipe-downs!
🛡️ STEP 4: CERAMIC COATING APPLICATION
The coating is carefully applied section by section.
Each section is leveled and wiped with dedicated microfiber towels to remove excess product and ensure a uniform finish.
Depending on the coating system, this can involve 1–2 leveling and finishing passes per layer.
🔎 STEP 5: FINAL INSPECTION
We inspect every panel under proper lighting to check for high spots, streaking, or uneven coating.
We make any necessary corrections before the coating cures.
💥 THE BIG PICTURE:
Throughout the entire process, a vehicle can receive approximately 6–12+ cleaning, wiping, and leveling passes across its painted surfaces, depending on the vehicle’s condition and coating package.
And that doesn’t include all the time spent machine polishing, cleaning wheels, detailing trim, and preparing the smaller areas!
