Electric Bikes Duke's Moto Electric

Electric Bikes Duke's Moto Electric Electric Bikes. I build electric Bikes from mild to wild.

Hello.
It's been a while since I've posted.

Long story short, I couldn't build bikes anymore for a while (Since late 2020) because of my leg injury. It was just too painful to get around on.

As of last September, my leg was amputated. The doctor asked if I wanted to live or die. Well, I'm still here, so you can guess what my choice was.

I'm still not very mobile. I haven't received the prosthetic leg yet. I will be going back to work before I get the fake leg, assembling bikes again. I'm just not sure when.

I'm going for another surgery this Friday for the other leg.

Keep your fingers crossed for me that they're able to fix the circulation.

I have a bunch of stuff to post! Just no time to take the photo's for the posts! Connector upgrades for the 1000w bikes, motor kits, throttle upgrades, the bikes themselves! No time for anything!

I'll be putting together a prototype 1000w offering in the next couple weeks, and be comparing it to the famous Bafang BBSHD! I think I'll like my bikes better with the less expensive hub motors and USA made battery packs!

Forget about posting bikes for sale here on FB for the near future. I have three bikes available for this week and already have 15 people who want them from the Craigslist add.
I think bike companies should start getting restocked by July, but they ALL have back orders to fill. A LOT of back orders!
I'll take a guess that I won't have a day off until late September.

Sorry guys, only ladies bikes for the moment.

I should have a few 1000w Men's ebikes available some time in mid Aug. I'm getting the battery packs made in USA with premium cells!

Well that sucks. I ordered a couple UPP 52v 17.5Ah battery packs with 40A BMS this afternoon. Out of stock. Awaiting refund.

They would of showed up next week from the US warehouse they use. I wanted to give customers a battery pack choice. UPP or USA made packs by Light Speed Bikes. Looks like Light Speed will be getting all my business! Made from scratch after you order, not sitting on a shelf for who knows how long, with a 50A blue tooth BMS for only about $150 more. It's a upgrade in battery and I wanted to offer it as an option. I think people would rather buy a USA product over a Chinese product anyway.

No shipping this year. I hope to offer shipping next year, but for the moment it's only local pickup. I'll need to rent a larger place to offer shipping. Just no room for the boxes.

I could buy a nice used GSXR 1000 for the money I'm dumping into the ebike business this weekend! If this was a decade ago. I'd be riding around on my new motorcycle right now!

Not everyone wants an expensive (overpriced) factory made slow ebike.

It's my experience having tested and built prototype ebikes over the past four years, that the human butt can't usually stand much more than a twenty mile ride on an ebike. At least my butt don't like much more than a twenty mile ride.

This has been a part of my objective torture testing of ebike components to provide a decent priced bike better than most. The torture testing of ebike parts will never end, but that's part of the fun in making them.

I like to think I've done all the R&D work necessary to already provide better bikes than most of the competition. I started off with slower motors at my own expense knowing I'll want something faster for myself. I've gifted all of these earlier R&D prototype bikes away to friends and family.

Having tested myself everything available, it's my impression that a 750W motor (50 state road legal) is the minimum power required to put a smile on a customers face! The owner of the bike company I work for once said "I like the bike you built me because it's faster than any of our bikes." I only used a Bafang BBSO2 mid drive 750W motor with a 48v battery pack for that bike build. I was the Sixthreezero bike company R&D guy at that time. I could go on for hours about that subject, but to keep the post short, even though I built a better bike that put a smile on his face, and will last a decade if taken care of, they don't make that bike to this day! Bean counter blues! I wanted to make a line of ebikes they could build that would leave the competition in the dust for reliability, upgrade able hot rod options, etc! Nobody listened. Nothing but lost opportunities for the bike company.

Well, forget them! I'm building the better ebikes myself now! For less than their ebikes with twice the power range and reliability! As an entrepreneur, and a one man ebike company, it's my highest goal to sell smiles and not have to deal with customer complaints. Only way I know how to do that is to build the best ebikes using the best components available. This should be the minimum standard!

Duke's Moto Electric bikes will always provide the minimum standard of using the best components to create smiles on all of my customers faces! If a small business wants to survive, you can't think like a bean counter! You need to think about quality!

Just ordered 3 more motor kits with LED display instead of LCD. I can sell these installed on your bike for only $1130 with the wire connectors the kits come with (yellow blocks in photo) swapped out with the good ones! I'm also replacing the cheap LED dummy light thumb throttle the kits come with for Keyed half twist throttles with a battery voltage display so you will know exactly how much power your pack has left in it and be able to turn on/off the bike with a key (see photo). These kits should all show up next week along with the other kit. Throttles may take a bit longer to show up.

I'm ordering 3 52v 17.5Ah battery packs with 40amp BMS and genuine high quality Samsung Cells to go with these kits! While using pedal assist, that should be good for a solid 40 mile range. If only using the throttle, it should be more like a 20 mile range.

EDIT: I just ordered the last of these kits I could find. Was the last one left in inventory. I should have it by May 14th.

Been looking all over the place for hub motor kits! I found one that is at pre Corona pricing! Hell yeah! Now I can offer this 1000W kit installed on customers bike for $1150 with 17.5Ah battery pack! This kit is perfect for using on a Sizthreezero men's Everjourney 7 speed Aluminum bike! With this bike, the front wheel matches the one that comes in the kit! The bike (630 Everjourney 7 speed) in the photo has chrome spokes on the motor kit that don't match the front wheel. This kit has black spokes to match!
I'm ordering one kit today to verify seller! After it shows up and everything is OK, I'll order 5 at a time.

Started an old project back up again yesterday! Taking the day off from building customer bikes today to do something for myself for a change!

I started assembling this ebike back last year in August. It was a new spare 1500w motor I had sitting around. Waited a month for a aftermarket controller to show up from ebay. Put it all together with new controller and it didn't work. "OK, I'll get back to you some other day." Yesterday was the day!

While I was waiting for a customer to show up yesterday, I pulled it out of storage to take a look at what the problem was. I think I just wasn't holding the button down long enough for it to turn on. Started right up yesterday, but still had no throttle. I know I wired it up correctly! Went threw all the wires and found the throttle wires had pulled out of their connectors. Must of got stuck on pedals when backing the bike into storage with all the wires just hanging loosely from the controller haha. I remember them getting tugged on when putting it away that day.

So today I get to break in my brand new Klein wire st*****rs to put them back together. I think the old controller (used to replace one on another bike) only had 30 Amps. The new one is 40 Amp. My battery is 52V 50 Amp, so I should like what I get out of this bike! I want 40mph out of it! That's about 5mph faster than a BBSHD (only 30 Amp)!

I started this build to replace my old BBSHD build for the daily commute. That extra 5mph would allow me to get to work a lot safer! I will be able to take a lane to avoid pot holes and road debris without having to worry about getting rear ended by some smart phone text ju**ie!
