Starting January 1, 2025, here’s what you need to know about the new Texas vehicle inspection laws:

Annual Safety Inspections for non-commercial vehicles are no longer required for vehicle registrations.

Emissions Testing Stays in place for vehicles in 17 counties, including Galveston County. Don’t skip this step if your vehicle is registered here.

Commercial Vehicles will still require annual safety inspections.
