To all of D’s loyal customers and friends… Today we lost the man who was our Fearless Leader, our Warrior; the father of our two beautiful children and my loving husband, Darren Albrecht. 💔😢🙏

D fought for 14 long months and conquered 29 rounds of chemotherapy. During that time, he would still be outside detailing or taking care of his beautiful yard. 🥰 Just three short weeks ago, he got very ill with a horrible head and neck ache. From there, we learned that his cancer had indeed spread to his brain. The hospital did an amazing job of keeping him comfortable and treating all of the symptoms as they arose. But his cancer kept moving too quickly, and then it was time for him to go to be with the Lord.

Darren was a true believer, and we all know that he is in a much better place now. Thank you to everyone who has reached out to us in any way. We truly appreciate all of your thoughts and prayers.

We will be quiet for a while as we gather as a family to get through these next days, weeks, etc. We will be having a Celebration of Life soon, and we will share that information as soon as possible.

Fly High, my love. I know yours and my parents were right there waiting for you with open arms! Heaven has gained a true Angel. Until we meet again, my love. 🥺💔🙏

Back to the grind, I had my 29th rd of chemo yesterday so not feeling my best. Please keep me in your prayers as next week I’ll be getting a liver ultrasound as my liver is not functioning properly with increased blood levels. At least it’s not too cold this morning, next week will be a different story.

Hi Friends and Family! This is Kellee, I wanted to give an update on Darren and I hope everyone had a Merry Christmas!

As I was sitting in the parking lot yesterday waiting for Darren to finish his chemo (yes, parking lot, because Texas Oncology does not allow visitors during chemo appointments! Which is absoloutely wrong, and I am going to do my best to get this rule lifted. I sat by my mom's side during each of her treatments).... anyway, back to my story. The rain this morning is so peaceful and makes it a time to reflect.

Wednesday was Christmas, a day that we were so thankful and blessed to be able to spend together as a family of 3. When battling cancer, every day is a blessing, but the holidays are just a little more special to have those you love right by your side. We are finding things to do or see as long as Darren is up to the task. We have seen some very beautiful lights, have spent time watching Christmas movies and playing games! Last night, Sierra created a game just for us. We have not laughed so hard in a very long time! Our daughter is so creative and knows how to have fun, and of course, make amazing drinks for her and I to sample!

Darren's spirits have been in a good place, which is not always an easy thing for him. One of the biggest battles that goes along with fighting cancer is trying to keep your spirit up and and stay positive. Sierra and I (and his BFF Mark) do everything we can to keep his spirit in a good place. His test results had some concerning levels in regards to his liver function and his tumor markers went up 300 points. They ran all new tests this morning as he had his 28th rd of chemo, so we will have updated results tomorrow. Please send a prayer or positive thought our way for the results to be in our favor. On a positive note, Darren got into UT SouthWestern for a second opinion! We go the first week of January! We do not know what other options may be out there, so hopefully this will open the door to a successful treatment.

We wanted to thank everyone who has donated to our family. We have never been in a position to ask for money in our lives, so this means so much to us. Below is a few links if you feel led to donate. Darren can only work 1-3 days a week now due to his energy levels & side effects from chemo. We keep believing there will be a miracle so we won't have to continue with this page. Until then, we will keep believing and know Darren is a fighter and will continue to Kick Cancer's ASS!

Please lift me up in prayer! Brrrrr, it’s a cold morning! Not feeling the greatest as I’m recovering from chemo earlier in the week but I just keep grinding. Unfortunately my tumor marker increased significantly this week & now 3 out of 4 liver blood results show above normal which means my liver is being compromised from the cancer. 😩

Fun times, NOT!! Getting my 27rd of chemo started this morning 😩 A few of my customers have reached out for an update of my status as I haven’t posted latetly so attached is a link to our GoFundMe with an update from last week. Unfortunately the cancer has spread so I’ve been dealing with extreme pain in my upper & lower back. A Big thank you to those that have donated & to those that continue to give. Good afternoon, this is Kellee & I just wanted to give you an update. Darren started a new treatment today (24th rd) we’re praying it works as his cancer has now spread to his neck lymph nodes, shoulder blade & lower back (complete update in our GoFund Me below). His new cycle is 3 weeks in a row & 1 week off 😭😭 He spoke with MD Anderson & that’s not an option at this time as they don’t accept his Insurance & the cash consultation is absurd @ $18k. He did reach out to UT Southwestern in Ft. Worth for a 2nd opinion as they do accept his Blue Cross plan so hopefully he’ll get in sooner than later.

In between his treatments (once he starts to feel a little energy come back), he will push himself to go and do small jobs to try to bring in a little money. The stress level in our home has substantially increased as our income does not cover our monthly bills anymore since D is not able to work like he used to. We are now being faced with past due notices and being behind on our house payments. The last thing we need right now is to lose our home that we have lived in for the past 7 years.
