Burst Craft

Burst Craft Automotive Part Design With Racing In Mind. Burst Craft was founded in October of 2014 in the San Francisco Bay Area of California. Burst Craft was born.

To understand the Burst Craft mentality, we must first look into the mind and style of the driver that started it all. That driver saw that the canyon roads were his playground; his car, his tool. So long as his car was at peace among the curves, so was he. That bond between car and driver was something only he could feel and channel. And so as he matured, he began to mold his own style and necess

ity for quality. With our origins rooted in spirited street driving, we always saw the need to have function and durability with our cars and parts. This created the core belief of Burst Craft during our foundation of the business in 2014: automotive part design with racing in mind. Whether the racing is in the canyons or on the circuit, the need for quality product remains the same. We’ve come to specialize in Honda and Mazda vehicles that will see any range of driving type and style but also work on most other Japanese brands. Whether the car is in the canyon or on track, we can accommodate any and all of your setup and tuning needs to bring you the confidence in your car that any driver needs when they’re behind the wheel.

#58 hasn’t been the only Burst Craft Miata out on track lately. Tony has been enjoying his Mariner NA6 out at a recent private Thunderhill Raceway West day. With over 300k on this chassis, it’s impressive to see it still going so strong!

6 years, 8 months, and 21 days, that’s how long #58 and I had been apart since we last danced - It was Miata Reunion 2019. July 4th out at Sonoma Raceway marked a reset to that clock. A new motor, new differential/new final drive, new aero that I had yet to drive on, and a whole lot more experience under my belt. I’d been in a fair few other cars in that span of 6 years. She was healthier than ever but still the gentle girl I always remembered. We’ve got lots of progress to make, but this new beginning is already off to a great start. 3 seconds off our old PB to finish out the day at a 2:01.2 with consistent 2:02 laps and even a few other 2:01s. Suspension needs work but that was already expected. New coilovers to come from Annex Suspension Group in the coming months and we’ll add matching front aero over the winter to pair up with the bit of extra downforce the rear now makes. It’s good to be back!

Our Time Keeper gauge rings are nearly ready for final production! It’s been a long wait, but we’re nearly there. The NA version rings are shown here against some early generation RevLimiter gauge faces. It won’t be much longer until the first batch is available and we begin work on the next design!

While our bread and butter is Miatas, we’ve grown to really appreciate these GR86s. Stylish, easy to work on, and quite the capable car. ’s GR86 is no exception especially after getting these FastRoad Pro coilovers installed along with a new set of . A visually stunning and functionally capable car is what this GR has been shaped into over this last year or two!

A little side project brought to life yet again by the master of gauges, . .mx5 had approached us about gauges after seeing our original blue variation wondering if we would be open to doing a red version, since blue on red isn’t exactly all that appealing unless you’re a Spider-Man or Superman fan. We gave him the all clear for a red one-off to be commissioned between him an Adam on one condition - we get some great photos in return. He and (his trusty photographer) delivered! Happy to see art like this in the wild and have it bear our name.

And here it is, our Snowball! A former customer car come to make its residence at the shop.

Hopefully a build that pans out as a bit of a polar opposite to its “snowball” namesake, instead a slow and thought out build that carries the essence of vintage style. While it needs an engine refresh due to low compression, this NA6 will be the perfect foundation to get out and drive with once it receives its new heart. Styling queues will be taken from that of air cooled 911s, 1980s Mercedes, and an array of special one-offs like Koenig, Gemballa, and more. This first iteration is just our baseline. Some classy .wheels paired with a simple r-package front and rear lip make this a great setup to be a proper runner while we focus more attention on the interior in the coming months and years.

We’re honestly spoiled getting to work with amazing artisans like to help take our builds aesthetics to that next level. Adam and his artistic ability never cease to amaze and, of course, when we approached him with this design request, he delivered! What you see here is a custom design based on a mix of Mazdaspeed, M2-1028, and vintage Porsche cluster design queues all stacked into one wildly awesome NA cluster that now lives inside Snowball, our new white NA6 project. More on the car itself later!

New product announcement! It’s been awhile but we’re finally coming back around to making our own products again. First up are our new “Time Keeper” gauge rings for NA and NB Miata.

Designed in-house here at Burst Craft, these gauge rings add a classy and sleek brushed aluminum band to your otherwise mundane Miata gauge cluster. Our rings feature rear mounted polycarbonate lenses to protect your gauge faces from dust and UV damage while looking seamless when installed. The example photos showing green rings with no lenses are only prototypes and the final delivered product will have a raw brushed aluminum finish with acrylic lenses installed.

- ALL ORDERS PLACED IN DEC 2024 WILL BE PREORDERS FOR PRODUCT THAT WILL BE DELIVERED MID/LATE JAN 2025. USE CODE “RINGRING” FOR SPECIAL PREORDER PRICING! -
