✅ Spark Plug Boots & Wires ✅

For those that don’t know, we post videos on our TikTok page discussing common and basic things with these CanAm machines. So be sure to go give our page a follow and check out the content! Now let’s get today’s topic…

We have replaced more of these recently than what we normally do in a year due to improper technique of removing/installing. These CanAm spark plug boot/wires on the G2 platform isn’t a cheap part to replace if you mess them up. Over time, these could need to be replaced due to dry rot, cracks, splits, holes etc. If your boot or wire gets a deformity in it, it can cause the spark to jump and ground on a nearby object (head bolt, frame etc) and cause the machine to experience idling issues, performance issues, even starting issues. Also if going in water, it can cause the machine to run on 1 cylinder and can result in sudden machine power being killed. So be sure to keep an eye on these as they are rubber and over time, can be a maintenance item (just don’t check them with machine running because if there is a hole/rip, it will shock you). Now where most people mess up with these, is removing them to change spark plugs or if they’re trying to flush a machine out after a sink mishap. The spark plug boot is essentially “threaded” on and the wire has a copper crimp that allows the spark to consistently make contact with the spark plug. If you rip the wire out the boot, you can comprise the crimp and wire, resulting in possible part replacement. Also when removing/inserting the boot on the spark plug, simply keep the boot straight, and turn it left to right while pushing down. It will pop on the spark plug, don’t force it or get it off center because it can result in you splitting the boot or possibly damaging the spark plug. Never use a screw driver, channel locks, pry bar, or sledge hammer to remove your spark plug boot. If the boot is not damaged, then no need to mess it up! It’s also a good idea to apply a dab of dielectric grease around the boot ends to ensure it seals up and keeps debris out! Thank you for reading and remember, you can find for videos on CanAm Tech Tips on our TikTok page. Link will be in the comments for this particular discussion!

🔥 Big Meat Larry Hoovers 🔥

Our great friend Blaize w/ BlaiznTrails Performance picked up a set of 34” Super ATV Terminators for his new project! This machine is also utilizing SuperATV 2” Extended Rear Trailing Arms, and SuperATV High Clearance 2” Forwards A-Arms. Don’t get it twisted, this unit is going to be absolutely rowdy and if you know Blaize, then you know his machines are always over the top with performance. We always appreciate working with Blaize every day and being able to help out in anyway possible! Ready to see this unit go for a rip 🔥🔥🔥🔥!

G3 Outlander 850➡️1000R 🔥

Ricky brought us his G3 2026 Outlander 850XMR for a full service but also, some performance added. By now almost everyone knows, but if you don’t…. The 850 and 1000R engines in the G3 platform are the exact same, just the 850 is detuned but also has heavier primary clutch weights. So we did a 918 1000R file swap and also modified his weights to bring out the 1000R potential. This simple mod does make a difference and is a great upgrade for anyone with an G3 850cc not wanting to spend big money on custom tuning. We appreciate Ricky for trusting us with his machine and look forward to seeing him again soon for some more performance 🔥🔥🔥.

James reached out to us regarding his 2022 850 Outlander XMR having issues with “no power”. James had his machine at a dealership and was on the verge of spending a crazy amount of money for the wrong reasons. James gave us a call and we told him to go get his unit and bring it to us for it to be looked at and wouldn’t you know it, only thing it needed was a new belt and clutch prep. The dealer was going to charge him to replace both stock clutches, along with a few other things for an absurd price all for a smoked belt. After informing James of what needed to be done, he said “let’s just upgrade it while we’re here”. So we did a HD CVTech primary clutch w/ secondary spring upgrade. We also installed a new SuperATV Worlds Best Belt. This 850 rips and James was super stoked on the upgrade and savings. We appreciate James for trusting us with his unit but most importantly, we appreciate him for serving this great nations Military 🇺🇸!

Zach brought us his 2024 Outlander 850 XMR for some clutch and engine tuning! Zach’s exact words were, “I feel like it has more in it” and it sure did! Zach’s machine was utilizing a QSC RMT primary clutch and while we don’t typically see them on our page, we can still calibrate them and set them up! We ended up changing the calibration in it due to lack of RPM and torque and also changed up the STM secondary helix and spring to better benefit Zach’s riding style. On top of that, we tuned his machine via HPTuners and dialed it in and man… what a ripper it is now! Proper RPM, great torque thru the RPM, smooth engagement, and with the BTP tuning, this 850 moves out good! We appreciate Zach for trusting us with his machine and performance upgrades! Looking forward to seeing him take this unit out on the next ride 🔥🔥🔥.

📣📣📣 Tech Tip Of The Day 🔥🔥🔥

*BASIC OVERHEATING ISSUES*

It’s getting to prime time riding season! Hot weather and dry conditions! One of the most common issues we get messages and calls about is machines running hot. This can pertain to all ATVS and SXSs! Here are 3 simple things you need to check and ensure to keep your machine running cool and optimum!

✅ 1.) Ensure your radiator is clean and not clogged full of mud! CHECK THE SIDE VENTS/PORTS! Many times people think their radiators are clean but the side ports will still be clogged and cause overheating issues. Don’t pressure wash your radiator! It can bend the fins and cause issues!

✅ 2.) Ensure your FAN is operating as it should! Be sure to test or do a heat cycle on the machine to ensure it works before every ride. Also be sure to note how strong the fan is working. If it sounds weak and isn’t pulling enough air, your machine will overheat.

✅ 3.) COOLANT LEVEL! The most common issue, especially on brand new units… is the coolant is extremely low straight from the dealer. If your coolant level isn’t at the adequate level, and it’s way below the minimum level, when your machine gets up to temperature, your thermostat will open and suck the reservoir dry causing an air pocket and will cause overheating issues. So always keep an eye on your coolant level and periodically check it!

Jacob recently did some performance upgrades to his 2025 G3 Outlander 850XMR with the help of ReneGabe! After going over options, Jacob pulled the trigger on a full set of STM Powersports clutches! The ultimate setup bringing their new “Velocity” Primary with the STM secondary for the Gen 3 platform. This is by far the best clutching upgrade for these G3 machines and every setup we’ve done so far, each customer has been amazed and thrilled of the difference! Jacob has informed us that the machine rips and is a blast to ride! We appreciate Jacob for trusting us with his clutching upgrades and also Gabe for reaching out and recommending us! Ready to see it in the videos 🔥🔥🔥

📣📣📣 NEW PRODUCT 🔥🔥🔥

After testing to ensure reliability, we have a found a suitable aftermarket fan motor for the G2 shrouds. Instead of having to spend $200+ on a complete unit, this fan motor drops right in with no modification to the shroud or blades! Even the plug is the same as the OEM harness! As for the CFMs, it’s moves just as much air if not more than the OEM fan motor! Great product to have just in case yours decides to crap out on a big ride!

A cheaper alternative than spending $200+ on a whole new fan assembly for your machine. We have used these with great results and they move more air than most of the cheaper universal style fan motors. THIS A DIRECT DROP-IN PART!!! USES FACTORY FAN BLADES AND HARNESS PLUG. NO NEED TO WORRY ABOUT CUT...
