Why can’t people just be fair? Why can’t businesses do the right thing? This Fusion is getting a new engine because a dealer did the wrong thing. The vehicle was sold and the owner didn’t even get a week out of it before it blew up. Why did it blow up? How do I know that the dealer created this? That blob of brown crap is plugging a hole in the side of this engine. That hole is there for a reason. Ford put it there so when the water pump begins to fail, coolant leaks out of this hole. Ford never meant for that hole to be plugged. Ford designed this as a warning. If you don’t replace the water pump when coolant comes out of that hole, coolant will leak into the oil. Coolant contaminated oil wreaks HAVOK in the engine. In this case, it chewed into the main bearings until the engine completely seized. The poor guy who bought this didn’t even get the full 30 days out of his temp tags before it failed.
Please please PLEASE get your vehicles inspected by someone NOT connected to the dealer or person who is selling it. I am seeing this more and more lately. We offer inspection services as well as engine replacements. We prefer the inspections but we can help with the other if you’re stuck. Let us help hold these shady dealerships accountable and keep their trash in their inventory and not your driveway!

I love seeing ads like this. If you know 4Runners, you know they rust, BAD. Corrosion has been the leading reason these beauties take one way trips to the junkyard. OIL UNDERCOATING SAVED IT. Will yours make it to 32 years? When was the last time you climbed under your vehicle to see if rust is taking it?

Twenty…..four……thousand…..miles. Absolutely insane how much rust completely covered the frame of this truck. Pretty sure this one will hold the record for the amount of flacking rust we descaled off this one. We will be weighing it soon. Now, maybe this ole gal can live a full life!

Venting time…….

Dear Dodge/Stallantis,
You and I need to chat. Specifically about your 2019-2021 Ram 1500 trucks. I recently had a 2020 brought in for water in the rear floorboard. I did my due diligence and removed the rear seat so I could access the substructure and look for water trails to help figure out where the issue is. I found several indicators of water leaking down from the rear window. Stuff happens, I get it. So, I look for a solution. These are trucks that cost a significant amount of money and have very loyal buyers, so I assume you would want to offer a solution that would respect those loyal customers and protect your brand. I find TSB 23-016-21 Rev A (See attached pic for reference). Replace rear window, likely covered under warranty. GREAT! I approve! But wait……..there’s more. I look further and see there is ANOTHER TSB related to this……23-042-24 (again, pic for reference) which replaces the previous TSB and now extends the warranty! Well done Dodge, yall are doing great. But wait……this TSB advises now that technicians are no longer to replace the rear window……nope. *breathe……deep breath……* Technicians are now advised to….caulk the rear window…….CAULK……………….THE…….REAR…….WINDOW……..
This cannot be for real. You are a brand that millions are loyal to. When you have been steadily increasing the cost of your trucks to outrageous figures, your loyal customers continue to buy….and you’re fixing water intrusion issues with CAULK?? A quick search of the forums and I see where your loyal customers have had several rear windows replaced and the problem persists so I understand the caulk solution. But I certainly hope this is a temporary solution while you work on a better design and not a permanent fix. That’s just bad business and not how any business should resolve things with loyal customers.
These are expensive trucks. They should not be repaired with caulk……
Sincerely,

CVT transmissions have specific fluid needs that must be addressed. Given their widespread use, it is essential to prioritize maintenance, even if they are not the preferred choice. Changing the CVT fluid at regular intervals of 30,000 miles is advisable to ensure optimal performance and longevity, regardless of manufacturer guidelines. When was the last time you had your CVT fluid changed?
