🚨 REAL CUSTOMER STORY – THIS COULD HAVE BEEN A MAJOR ACCIDENT 🚨

This 2006 Toyota Tacoma came in for a routine alignment… but what we found tells a much bigger story.

📍 First Visit (Feb 9):
During inspection, we found:
• Completely worn out lower control arm bushings
• Loose lower ball joints
• Severe frame rust and damage
• Alignment could NOT be properly performed

We advised the customer of the safety concerns and provided a quote for proper repairs.

👉 Customer declined and chose to have a friend (not a mechanic) do the work.

📍 Second Visit (March 16):
Customer returned for alignment after “repairs” were done…

Immediately we found:
❌ Improperly installed eccentric bolts/shims
❌ Damage to subframe from incorrect installation
❌ Excessively loose inner tie rod

We recommended a full inspection due to safety concerns.

⚠️ WHAT HAPPENED NEXT:
While moving the vehicle into the lift bay…
👉 The inner tie rod COMPLETELY SEPARATED from the rack & pinion

The truck lost its ability to steer forward.

💥 THIS WAS A DISASTER WAITING TO HAPPEN 💥

If this vehicle had left the shop before we caught it, it could have resulted in a serious accident or worse.

Cutting corners on suspension & steering repairs is not worth the risk.

Looks like proofreading was on sus-pention today, because ‘SUSPENTION’ somehow made it past editorial review.
Even official documents need an inspection!
