And while some of it’s earned, there’s also a LOT of myths floating around that just aren’t true.

Here are 3 of the biggest dealership myths I hear all the time, and the truth behind them:

🚫 Myth #1: “Dealers make a fortune on every car”
✅ Truth: Margins on most new and used cars are actually razor-thin. Dealers make more from service, financing, and volume, not overcharging you.

🚫 Myth #2: “The sticker price is what you’ll pay”
✅ Truth: Nope. That’s just the starting point. Smart buyers know how to negotiate, and the right salesperson will help you find ways to save.

🚫 Myth #3: “Buying from a dealership is always more expensive than private sellers”
✅ Truth: You might save upfront with a private seller, but with no warranty, no inspection, and no legal protection… it can cost you more in the long run.

At the end of the day, it’s all about who you work with.

Thinking about buying a car soon? Don’t make a move until you’ve heard this 👇

Most people walk into a dealership hoping for a good deal… and walk out hoping they didn’t get played.

Truth is, car buying doesn’t have to be confusing or stressful.

Here are 3 tips I always tell my buyers:

1️⃣ Know your budget BEFORE you shop
Know what your monthly payment range is. Know what you’re comfortable with and understand that on avg, $1000 financed=$20 a month.

2️⃣ Always check the CARFAX (or similar report)
Even if it looks perfect, the history might say otherwise. You’d be surprised what’s hiding under the hood, ask to see it, don't let minor incidents sway your thoughts, you're looking for major accident or Rebuilt titles.

3️⃣ Don’t rush the test drive
Drive it like YOU would every day. Highway, turns, braking, the works. If it doesn’t feel right, it’s not the one.

Buying a car is one of the biggest purchases you’ll make but when you’ve got someone who actually has your back, it’s a whole different experience.
