Wasn't sure where else to post this, so I'll post here even though we don't really use Facebook much....

The website will be up and down today as I'm doing some preventive maintenance and upgrades on raid drives and operating systems.

I know, I know..."do that IT stuff in the middle of the night". Well, apparently I'm too old for that late night hacking crap, so here we are on a Saturday instead. ;)

We do not know the history of this poor ECU...but we do know its future...and it's bright! Stay tuned. 😎

Finally! Some good news! We got our 2G cables back in stock a full month early! Woo hoo! So we're back up and going on these 2G packages again. Sorry for the hassle!!

Aaaaand, the news just keeps getting worse. I mean it's good we're busy, but it's unfortunate that we're simply unable to get parts built fast enough for us.

Suppliers that normally call out 2-3 month lead times are now quoting 5-6 month lead times. We submitted our purchase order 2 months ago when it looked like volume might continue to eat away at our inventory. We were hoping that either volume would let up enough to stretch our existing stock out or that our suppliers would suddenly get caught up and start shipping stuff our early.

At this point, however, it's clear neither is happening and we are officially *OUT* of 2G packages; specifically the 2G data logging cables.

So we have to suspend sales of 2G packages and cables until mid-August! Or until I can find a stop-gap solution, perhaps. It might be possible to use an off-the-shelf ELM based cable with some reduced functionality and minor code changes, but I'm not sure yet and wouldn't want to commit to anything. We would, of course, then need to coordinate a bulk replacement of those once our actual cables came in too...which would further complicate such an effort.
But the prospect of being unable to ship new 2G packages for another 2-3 months is pretty daunting, so we might have to consider extreme measures.

Anyway, sorry to be the bringer of bad news again. Will keep this page updated.

Well, we've finally reached the point where our supply cannot meet demand.

We have back-ordered the GM MAF cables until September and we have effectively removed the 1G and 2G non-EPROM to EPROM conversion from our website until we get through this current "situation".

I do not expect to be able to do non-EPROM conversion for at least 4 or 5 months (October timeframe), best case. We just can't get parts in and we've exhausted what I thought just a few months ago was an almost inexhaustible inventory of those things. Seriously...I thought we had so many 2G non-EPROM conversion boards stocked up that we' might never run out. But here we are.

I'm beating a dead horse, I know, but the first picture is what's currently ready to be tested and shipped back out. The second picture is what has come in before we could even get through the stuff in the first. You guys are crazy! Keep it coming! 🤣. .

Another batch of fresh cookies, I mean chips, out of the oven. I'm taking this opportunity to point out that we really are producing stuff as fast as we can right now, but we're barely keeping up. We do apologize for the delays. We're trying to keep co-occupancy of our shop to a minimum and that is, naturally, affecting our throughput.

I also wanted thank everyone for the business lately! I kid you not when I say we've been hustling faster the last 2 months than we have been in 5 years! I'm glad we can do our small part to keep hands busy.

(Yes, that's a big stack of discarded ECU cases. We've cleared that stack out a few times over the years but it just keeps coming back.)

We've said it before and I guess we'll say it again. Friends do not let friends socket their ECU. FWIW, this isn't the worst we've seen. Relatively speaking, it's not actually that bad...as sad as that might be.

It's not every day that someone goes out of their way to make you feel like you're doing something right. But today was one of those days!! One of our great customers, Mr. Doug Bartelmann, thought we might like some pizza and wings for lunch today and MAN he was right!! THANKS DOUG!
