Another Maryland State Inspection helpful tip!✨

All exterior lights on a vehicle need to be operable in order to pass a Maryland State Inspection.

This includes headlights, taillights, brake lights (including high mount stop lamp), side marker lamps, tag lights, and more! If your vehicle is equipped with a lamp, it must be functional!

2014 Toyota Tacoma A/C Evaporator Core Replacement❄️🌡

This was the most labor intensive A/C repair of the summer here at Doug's. Vehicle was brought in after the customer had tried recharging the system with canned freon from their local auto parts store. After putting dye in the A/C system, we found dye coming out of the A/C drain when the system was turned on. That A/C drain is responsible for draining condensation out of the evaporator box behind the dashboard.

This is not a common fail item! The leak was so bad you can actually see the trail of UV dye with the naked eye.
✅Dashboard removed
✅Crash bar removed
✅Entire evaporator box removed
All to remove and replace the evaporator core!

2 days later, our customer has his vehicle back with ice cold A/C.

Do you drive a sedan or an SUV? In Maryland, that makes a difference when it comes to window tint. Window tint is the most frequent fail item that we see when it comes to Maryland State Inspections.

Passenger cars require 35% or more light transmission through all side windows and the rear glass. On SUVs, vans and light trucks, only the two front side windows must meet the 35% requirement. The rear windows may be darker.

The final meter reading is what counts, not the percentage printed on the tint film. Check out the graphic for a simple breakdown! ⬇
