I’ll never be a fan of cruisers, but this one is rad.

I really dig this Bonneville Bobber TFC. Thankfully, in a corner it still feels like a Bonneville. It only took a few years at the gym, but it’s pretty comfortable for a few hours on the road too.

But open up the throttle and it’s nothing but a flashing traction control light as the Shinkos do their best to keep up.

If we had room, I’d 100% build another.

Here’s an unusual one to work on.

Putting OZ Racing Piega forged wheels in matte gold on a BMW R1250RTP.

Had a spare set of wheels from another project and decided to put them to use rather than have them go to waste.

First time on the road in 20 months! Feels great to have it back on the road literally the first time since changing the rear wheel to a 17” and with new white walls and lowered seat over a year ago.

This beauty is just absolutely art on two wheels.

We have been going back-and-forth on this bike for a few years now. Never really truly knowing where the end destination is.

I feel that it’s in a great place and it looks amazing running an original color from the Thruxton R. But there is something in me that feels like just settling on using a factory color isn’t enough.

I am still unsure if continuing with the fully Silver Ice color is the best bet, or mixing the chrome fuel tank with Silver everything else. If the chrome tank goes on., I will use an identical tank badge to what is on all the Silver Ice fuel tank, but a red badge rather than gold. It could look great.

The third alternative is to paint it an entirely different color like a vibrant blue. I have also mocked that up with the aid of AI.

If this were your bike and there were the same three paths:

- Stay fully Silver Ice

- Use the chrome fuel tank with Silver Ice fender, fairing and cowl AND change the tank badge to a red version of what is currently on the silver fuel tank.

- Paint it all BMW Atlantis Blue

What would you do?

Only three available paths, choose one.

Just a little PSA from DNK TuneWorks.

Don’t drill holes in your ECU.

We cannot reverse time and make it so you never drilled holes through your ECU. We cannot tune your ECU to work around the big hole in it.

Please do not send us damaged ECUs. This is exactly how our old air-cooled tuning rig was damaged in 2021. We received a bad ECU and it melted down our wiring interface.

Finishing up some changes we started on the 1/325 Thruxton Ace Cafe that were started a few months ago.

Adding some white to balance all the darkness.

It feels like just a touch more is needed. Perhaps the back half of the headlight assembly (main bucket) should be also painted body color and have a silver pinstripe separate it from the black front bezel.

Maybe, maybe not.

Having a bad day, or even a bad week? There’s a fix. Just 20 minutes on a hot-rodded Speed Twin 1200 can cure just about anything.

The years may pass, but the fondness for the original bike when there was only one bike and no others grows. Our 2016 Triumph Thruxton R, the bike that launched DNK TuneWorks and is responsible for our logo. It was always the first choice when going for a ride until we started to flash customers ECUs, then it became a tool locked away in an office.

Maybe it’s time to change that before too long.

Not entirely sure if it was ridden any further last year than to bed in new brake pads. It needs to be ridden again.
