Job Summary:
General Maintenance Worker will perform janitorial duties in an industrial setting with a focus on safety while performing general maintenance and cleaning industrial equipment.
Essential Functions:
Cleans and maintains factory and industrial equipment.
Ensures equipment is free of grease, oil, residue, and other materials.
Cleans floors around machinery and elsewhere in the facility as assigned.
Performs other basic janitorial services to ensure the facility is clean and safe.
Maintains inventory of cleaning supplies and equipment.
Performs general repairs that do not require a specialized technician. Examples may include repairing drywall, painting, and repairing doors and other building fixtures.
Performs routine maintenance on building systems.
Required Skills/Abilities:
Excellent organizational and time management skills.
Ability to use hand cleaning tools such as mops, brooms, and brushes.
Ability to use power cleaning tools such as vacuums and floor scrubbers.
Ability to follow and read instructions and use cleaning chemicals and agents properly.
Ability to learn cleaning procedures for industrial equipment.
Knowledge of general carpentry and repair.
Ability to use hand tools and power tools.
Education & Experience:
High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
Previous experience preferred.
On-the-job training provided.
Environment:
While performing the duties of this job, the General Maintenance Worker will be in a manufacturing environment where loud noises and hot or cold temperatures are possible.
