Tech Tip Tuesday: Heat causes tire blowouts. Here is exactly how to handle one. ☀️🛞

With pavement temperatures soaring across Indiana, your tires are under extreme stress. For every 10-degree change in outside temperature, your tire pressure shifts by roughly 1 PSI. If you air up your tires too much on a cool morning, the friction of a hot highway can cause dangerous over-inflation, leading straight to a high-speed blowout.

If you experience a blowout this summer, remembering these steps can save your life:
• Keep a firm grip on the steering wheel.
• Never slam on the brakes. It can cause your wheels to lock up and result in a total loss of control.
• Gradually ease off the accelerator and let the vehicle slow down naturally.
• Maintain a straight path.
• Pull over safely once the vehicle has slowed, and turn on your hazard lights.

Our Tech Tip: Always use the yellow and white sticker inside your driver's side door jamb for the correct factory cold tire pressure. Check them in the morning to give yourself a safe buffer for the afternoon heat!

From Utah to Mulberry, Indiana: The Grayless Dyno is becoming a destination facility. 🛠️✈️

There is no greater compliment for a performance shop than when the industry's top professionals travel across state lines just to use your equipment.

We recently had an incredible session in the shop. The owner of this beautiful 2018 Porsche Panamera 4S drove down from the South Bend area after installing a set of upgraded turbos. To complement the hardware, the tuning specialists at flew all the way in from Utah to handle the custom calibration.

When you are extracting maximum performance from a twin-turbo European platform, guessing isn't an option. They needed the most precise data possible, which is exactly why they utilized our Mainline ProHub Dyno. Because it bolts directly to the vehicle's wheel hubs, it eliminates all tire slip and traction inconsistencies, giving the tuner a perfect environment to safely maximize the new turbo setup.

🚗 SAFETY TIP FROM THE GRAYLESS CREW 🚗

Ever start feeling drowsy on a long drive even when you weren't really that tired? There's a sneaky cause sitting right on your dash — the "recirculate air" button. ♻️
When it's ON, your A/C just loops the same cabin air around instead of pulling fresh air in from outside. With a couple people in the car, the carbon dioxide everyone breathes out slowly builds up — and that's what leaves you foggy, yawning, and slower to react behind the wheel.

Easy fix:
✅ Flip recirculate OFF on long drives
✅ Or crack a window for a few minutes
Fresh air clears it out and helps you stay sharp. 👀

He went home and told the dog about the build. Of course he did. 🐾
Tabby (Braden's wife — and his best friend) sent us this clip of him debriefing Brynlee on his day. He put a smaller pulley hub on Caleb's Caddy — more boost, more power. Brynlee listened to every word. Bynxie was just along for the vibes. 🥹
Today is National Best Friends Day, and it felt like the right time to share it. Tabby's been Braden's best friend through every late shop night, every project car, and every dog who's claimed his lap. The kind of partner who films a moment like this because she sees how special it is.
Behind every busy shop is the family that makes it possible — the people who hold things together when the workdays run long, who put up with the engine parts on the kitchen table, and who never get tired of hearing "just one more thing on this Caddy."

This TJ rolled in on a trailer this week ready for a little resto love. New lease on life starts now.

Old Jeeps are some of the most rewarding vehicles we work on. They’re built tough, they’re easy to wrench on, and most of them have 20+ years of memories baked into every dent and scratch. People don’t bring us their TJ because they’re trying to flip it — they bring it because it’s THEIR Jeep, and they want to keep driving it.

We’re not trying to make it new. We’re making it right.

More boost incoming. 🔥
This 6th-gen Camaro ZL1 1LE came in for a DSX Tuning lower pulley install. Once it's buttoned up, it heads to Wisher Performance for the tune update.
Here's the simple version of what's happening: the lower pulley drives the supercharger. Make that pulley smaller, and the supercharger spins faster — which packs more air into the engine, which makes more power. The DSX double-bearing setup keeps everything reliable at the higher RPMs the smaller pulley creates.
You can't just slap a pulley on and call it done, though. The tune has to be updated to match the new boost level — fuel delivery, ignition timing, knock thresholds, the works. That's why this one's heading to Wisher when we're done.
This LT4 was already a monster from the factory. About to be a whole different animal.

Fresh transmission, fresh start. 🔧
This Silverado rolled into the shop needing a new transmission, and Braden got her buttoned up clean. Ready for another 150,000 miles.
Transmission work isn't the flashy stuff that gets shared on social media — but it's the kind of job that keeps your truck on the road for the long haul. Done right, it's done once.
A few things we always tell customers about trans issues:
🔧 If you feel slipping between gears, rough shifts, or a delay when you put it in drive — don't wait. Catching it early can be the difference between a fluid + filter service and a full rebuild.
🔧 Towing, hauling, and stop-and-go driving are hard on transmissions. If your truck works for a living, fluid changes at the recommended interval are cheap insurance.
🔧 We work on Chevy, GMC, Ford, Ram, Toyota — pretty much anything with a transmission. If you're not sure what's going on with yours, bring it in and we'll diagnose it.
Daily drivers, work trucks, weekend toys — we take care of all of them.

C7 Z06 build day at Grayless. Here's what went into it. 🛠️
When you're chasing real power out of an LT4, you can't just bolt parts on and hope for the best. The supercharged 6.2 is a great platform, but the factory fuel system runs out of headroom fast once you start making real boost. Every part of this build had to be planned to work with the next.
Here's the spec sheet on this Z06:
🔧 GPI (Gwatney Performance Innovations) custom cam — wakes up the LT4
🌀 Brian Tooley Racing valve springs — handles the new cam profile
💨 Kong Performance ported supercharger — moves significantly more air than stock
💉 Wisher Performance AuxJection — adds the extra fueling needed so the engine can actually use the boost it's making
🔌 ECM pinning — what Braden's finishing up in this video. The factory ECM doesn't drive the AuxJection injectors out of the box, so we pin in the additional injector control. This is where most shops tap out.
🎯 Custom tune coming next on our Mainline dyno
ECM pinning is the kind of work that takes deep knowledge of the platform. You've gotta know the harness AND the calibration to make it run right. Get one piece wrong and nothing runs. That's why builds like this don't go to every shop in town.
Where will she land power-wise? We'll find out on the dyno. But with this combo — ported blower, cam, AuxJection, custom tune — it's gonna be a lot.
