The actual dates are Saturday, June 6th, and Sunday, June 7th, 2026.

Please plan accordingly if you plan on engaging in this activity.

DNREC will hold a community meeting on Chronic Wasting Disease (CWD) following the recent detection in Delaware’s white-tailed deer.

The meeting will be held at 6 p.m., Wednesday, May 13 at the Baldcypress Nature Center at Trap Pond State Park in Laurel. Park entrance fees will be waived from 6 to 8 p.m. for those attending. A virtual option is also available.

This is one of the first steps in Delaware’s CWD Response Plan. Attendees can learn more about the disease, ask questions and understand how surveillance efforts may affect upcoming hunting seasons.

Additional meetings for hunters and processors will be held in the coming months.
