New old stock Hurst Airheart disc break calipers and master cylinder with chrome mounting brackets, lines, spacers and fittings.

I’ve had these for some years now. Got them from my old friend Fisher. He bought these new in 1978 at the Triumph of Wellesley Chopper Shop.

They sold motorcycle parts and accessories and the man at the counter at the time was the late great Paul Aldrich.

These were obviously designed for a dual disc motorcycle front end but they could also be used on the front of a hot rod.

Glad to have cool old stuff on the shelf.

Thanks Blackie!

I got this diamond tank at the Keene Swap Meet a couple weeks ago.

I know…it looks like house paint, but you have to look beyond that. The front mount is damaged. No big deal.

What I really like about this particular diamond tank is that the side panels are only 2 and a half inches at the peak giving it a super low profile look.

At 24 inches long it needs a stretched backbone frame.

I might have to build a Digger style bike for it.

It will be interesting to strip it and see it there is a maker’s mark underneath.

But as you can see in last two photos, I am working on a bunch of other motorcycle parts for customers here so my stuff will wait a while…

A diamond in the rough!

Will let you know what we find underneath…

My friend Tom Coco sent me these photos of his 59 Panhead. This is the fender I did last fall and the tanks I did the year before. That new old stock parking light looks cool on the front fender.

The bags look like they could use a little attention. Maybe we will be doing those next year.

Have a good ride Tom! Be safe out there. All the roads suck!

Here’s a wall from the office. A lot of history here! If a picture says a thousand words, I don’t have to say anything.

Zoom in, check them out and enjoy!

This Sunday the 19th is the Stafford Motorcycle Swap Meet in Connecticut.

Hope it doesn’t rain though it doesn’t look good!

See you there!

Buried in bike parts!

These are all difficult to match colors.

First two photos: Harley Davidson Road Glide with original candy orange paint.

Next two photos: Harley Davidson rear fender with Glacier Blue white base coat, blue pearl color coat. I have to save the stripe, can’t get that anymore!

Last photo: pair of Victory saddle bag covers. Still dialing in a color match on these!
These need to be a little lighter and a little greener. Maybe an easter egg tint will help!

Will show you the finished products down the road.

Happy Easter out there!

Another swap meet find!

I got this oval cast iron W**d pedal at the Early Ford V-8 Swap Meet probably 15 years ago.

Thought it would be a good addition to my 51 Panhead Chopper project.

I heard that W**d made sewing machines between 1865 and 1891.

It looked like it would fit my original H-D brake pedal arm.

It fit perfectly as you can see in the second photo.

This is a project I’ve been scrounging period correct parts for, for a long time.

I think it looks right at home there!

Another piece of the puzzle…

Where is spring?

Well. I’m not at bike week...but I am doing bike parts! In between parts, I’ve been working on this Bellhousing.

This is gonna go for chrome but I thought I could save a few bucks by smoothing the finish out first.

This is an early cast iron Bellhousing that I removed the mounting wings from the bottom and smoothed them out.

A little more time consuming trying to smooth out cast iron than aluminum!

I like the cast iron because it is heavy duty and it is a more compact design than the ribbed aluminum in a small hot rod.

This will go behind the LT-1 in the Dan Woods Chassis.

I think it’s ready to ship out to the chrome shop now.

Still has a few pits. I hope the copper coat will take care of that.

Addicted to chrome!

I got this tank at the Keene New Hampshire Motorcycle Swap Meet about 10 years ago.

The first three photos show as purchased condition.

I recognized this immediately as new old stock as the flaking black finish is the protective coating that came on this tank in earlier years.

If you look at the bottom photo you can see it still has the plugs in the gas ports, except the lower right gas port so you can recognize it.

I didn’t want all of them, so I took the Harley gas port from the middle and moved it to the left rear. Filled in the remaining holes and removed the vent / overflow tube as well.

The next two photos show it in bare metal after stripping and blasting. Sorry I neglected to take an underneath photo at this time.

The last photos are in finished primer.

This will hang around a little while now until paint.

Swap Meet season is comin’, hold on!

People always ask me what I’m gonna get.

My response is always the same:

You never know…unless you go!

See you all soon!

We were talking about this car at the shop last week. Here’s the story:

So this guy walks into the shop around 2002, says he has a 67 Mustang GT Fastback that’s hit real hard in the rear.

Said he had 5 body shops look at it and no one wanted to do it.

It was 5 miles away in Ashland.

So I said: “You got my interest. I do appreciate a challenge! Let’s go look at it!”

We decided to fix it and the first photo shows the car in the shop before any work was started.

A lot of pulling time was required to realign the rear body section.

While inside the trunk, I noticed that the quarter panels had been replaced with original Ford panels. So while the pulling process was going on, I was working that quarter panel to try and save it and was successful as you can see in the second photo.

New trunk lid, read body panel, gas tank, bumper, and tail lights.

The next photos show the quarters straightened and primed.

We did straighten the whole rest of the body as well before complete paint and the last photo is the finished product.

I always feel good when I save a car from the junkyard!

I found these photos from the later 80s. Finished these two paint jobs around the same time. 75 Monte Carlo Custom and 65 GTO Original. Lacquer paint and clear coat on each.

The Monte Carlo is currently owned by Larry White. It was a pleasure to see him and the car at the Ashland Show last fall.

I don’t know what happened to the GTO but I hope it is still terrorizing the streets somewhere.

Save ‘em for Spring!
