Do you run fuel additive in your vehicles?

There are many benefits to running fuel additives in any vehicle. Some known benefits (depending on the additive) include preventing rust/corrosion, increased fuel economy, lubrication, cleaning of injectors, and increased power. There are some additives that contain preventative anti-gels for fuel, which are perfect for adding into your tank before winter hits! Additionally, additives can increase the storage stability of your fuel and lengthen the fuel’s life. This aspect specifically is helpful for any vehicles that are not driven often.

There are also oil additives! These reduce wear/friction to help in extending your engine’s life.

Our most popular additives are Optilube XPD for diesels, Schaeffer’s Carbon Treat, and Optilube Gas Enhance for gas vehicles. XPD is an all-in-one additive, performing many of the benefits described above. Carbon Treat is a more specific additive, combating soot buildup in your truck to allow you more horsepower, increased longevity, and cleaner systems. Gas Enhance cleans your injectors and lubricates your cylinders.

Meet Dale, owner and lead mechanic at Dirty Dales Diesel Performance & Auto.

He’s been taking things apart and putting them back together since before he can remember. At just age 13, his dad, Dale Sr, purchased a 1973 International Scout II as Dale Jr’s first car. There was a catch though, he had to restore it completely and make it road safe. The Dales wasted no time getting started on the project and in just 2 years it was complete. He still has his 1973 Scout II and has collected several more over the years, along with his dad.

His love for rebuilding things and learning how they worked didn’t stop there. As a sophomore at New Palestine High School, he decided he wanted to take Walker classes for Auto mechanics. He spent both his Junior and Senior year doing just that. He went on to get his degree in diesel mechanics from Lincoln Tech, along with several other certificates. With over 20+ years experience in 2015 he decided to start his own business, Dirty Dale’s Diesel.

When Dale is not working on customer vehicles he enjoys tinkering on things of his own. He enjoys taking the scout and trucks to Silver Lake Sand Dunes in Michigan with his son, and attending drag races with his dirt truck. Dale truly loves what he does, and it shows in his customer service and work.
