I never thought i’d put another set of tear offs on my racing helmet, it like me was forced into retirement & put on the shelf.
Back in January, I truly believed my racing career was over. Two injured vertebrae stopped me in my tracks. I couldn’t work, I couldn’t race, and for months my full-time job became rehab. Those were long days—pain, doubt, and a lot of quiet moments wondering if I’d ever strap into a race car again.
I announced my retirement because, at that time, it felt like the only honest choice. Things looked worse than we first thought, and I had to put my health first. Racing isn’t just something I do—it’s who I am. It’s late nights in the shop, it’s the smell of methanol, it’s my people in the pits and in the grandstands.
But here’s the good news: through a lot of hard work, the right people in my corner, and a whole lot of grit, I dodged surgery—and I made a full recovery.
It’s been almost one year to the day since I last strapped in, this time 50lbs lighter. Excited to annouce i’ll now be piloting the Howey Roofing 99H dirt truck!
A big thank you goes out to Art Howey Jr for the opportunity, he has stuck by my side as a sponsor on my sprint car & even sponsored my teams sprint car when I was no longer able to race.
Also a big thanks to Greg Thorp my right hand man on the wrenches!
I never again thought this would be possible, truly blessed & ready to make the most of it 🙏
