Meet Our Team

Jim Crawford has dedicated his life to motorsports, beginning his racing career in karting as a child. In the 1990s, he became an engine builder for the Buick IndyCar program, which also supported his progression into competitive racing in the Formula Ford Pro Formula 2000 series.

With extensive professional driving experience, Jim became a highly sought-after driving coach, working with renowned racing schools such as Skip Barber, Panoz, Marlboro/Team Penske Racing School, SKILLS Driving, and Bondurant, among others. He also brings decades of experience working with elite automotive manufacturers, contributing to product launches, commercial productions, vehicle testing, and dealer track programs. His clients have included BMW, Ferrari, Audi, Mercedes-Benz, Maserati, as well as numerous domestic brands.

In 2022, Jim joined SKILLS Driving full-time as Chief Driving Instructor. In this role, he develops curriculum and leads the recruitment and training of a global network of instructors, focused on teaching accident-avoidance techniques to non-CDL fleet drivers. He is also passionate about helping young drivers build vehicle control skills through the SKILLS Teen program.

Outside of work, Jim enjoys spending time with his family—his wife, five children, and two dogs.
