Congratulations to Toyota for their 2026 24 Hours of Lemans win!
"Toyota secured its sixth victory at the 24 Hours of Le Mans after an intense battle that remained undecided until the final stages of the race. The contest featured fierce competition among multiple Hypercar manufacturers, with the top four finishers separated by just 32 seconds after 24 hours of racing.
Kamui Kobayashi guided the No. 7 Toyota GR010 Hybrid to victory, finishing just over ten seconds ahead of the No. 20 BMW M Hybrid V8. The result marked Toyota’s first Le Mans triumph since 2022 and delivered another historic achievement for the Japanese manufacturer.
The race remained highly competitive throughout, with Toyota, BMW, Cadillac, Ferrari, and Alpine all spending time near the front. Strategic pit stops, safety car periods, and changing track conditions continuously reshuffled the order, keeping the outcome uncertain until the closing hour.
BMW secured a remarkable second-place finish, earning its first overall Le Mans podium since its famous victory in 1999. Toyota’s sister No. 8 entry completed the podium in third place, giving the manufacturer a double-podium result.
Defending winners Ferrari were unable to challenge for another victory and ultimately finished fifth despite showing strong pace during parts of the race. Several contenders suffered setbacks, including mechanical failures, penalties, and race-ending incidents that dramatically affected the final standings.
The victory further strengthens Toyota’s legacy in endurance racing and reinforces the GR010 Hybrid’s status as one of the most successful Hypercar programs of the modern Le Mans era.
