Adventure Bound RV Service finds us doing roadside semi truck services too. Got this trucker back on the road after his generator went down on him moving through North Texas.

I’m horrible at keeping up with the social media posting.
But this one kinda shocked me. This was on a brand new 2026 Brinkley with a SlimRack slide system. The controller pushes too much power to the motors and they don’t amp out when fully retracted or extended. Thus the motor D-shaft continues to spin and busts the coupler right in half.
The good news is, Brinkley is aware and replaces the coupler and the controller with a new “Adaptive” torque controller.
*One other thing if you own one of these. On the inside seals, flip back the D seal and apply a bit of sealant on the wires. My customers rig had a wire find its way out from behind the seal, get caught in the track and cut.

Who can relate with these fancy touch panels and such in the new RV’s?
Because I sure can… 🤣

My toxic trait is thinking a toaster from 1997 is smarter than half the devices in my house today.

The older I get, the more I respect appliances that don’t need my email address.

This customer is REALLY wanting to get ahead of the heat wave and summer rush with a new AC install.
Give me a call and I can have you fixed up too. 😎

Haven’t made a post in quite a while.
But this one surprised me. This is the craziest dirt dauber nest I’ve seen in a long time. They made quite a home in this customers furnace exhaust.
Make sure you add screens to your outlets if you are in the south.
* If you are still under manufacturer warranty and take it to a shop, remove them before doing so; as several manufacturers will void the warranty for said screens (stupid in my opinion).

🐭Mouse vs. Motorhome: Round 2

Another day, another mouse making headlines for all the wrong reasons. This customer originally called in an electrician to troubleshoot a non-functional slide. Unfortunately, while skilled with residential systems, the electrician wasn’t familiar with RV-specific components and couldn’t pinpoint the issue.

After a quick round of diagnostics, I found the root cause: a missing ground at the touchpad controls. Tracing the harness through the firewall revealed the culprit—our furry little saboteur had chewed through the loom and severed the ground wire.

With the wire repaired and everything patched up, the slide is back in action—and the customer is rolling again, mouse-free (for now).

If your RV’s acting up—slide-outs, power issues, or just plain weird behavior—don’t guess. Call a tech who knows RVs inside and out.

A customer called in with electrical issues just as they were getting ready to hit the road for a trip. After pulling the converter, I discovered the culprit — a mouse had made itself at home and left behind some “liquid damage” that shorted out the board.

The unit was swapped out on-site, and the customer was back on the road, on time for a well-earned vacation.
