So I'm looking through Marketplace and see this local guy has reconditioned heads listed (for cheap), and as I'm looking at the pictures, I notice the exhaust seats look like they were done with a wood rasp, and the heads are obviously cracked. Also surfaced on a belt surfacer. 🤦‍♂️ I know where the Magnum heads are notorious for cracking. Sure enough, they're cracked! 🤯🤦‍♂️

People, be careful who you choose to do your machine work. Lots of hacks out there!

New fliers I designed with the help of ChatGPT. 😁 I'm doing it the old-fashioned way, visiting local repair shops personally. 💪 I've already been getting amazing responses and results. It's like shooting fish 🐟 in a barrel in this area. As soon as I walk into a prospective repair facility and they hear 'engine machine shop,' they often act like they just saw Jesus. 😂
Almost all the local engine machine shops have closed down. It's not just local; machine shops around the country are disappearing. Some areas are way worse than others; this is a bad one.
What do you think of the flier I tossed together with the help of Chat? Constructive criticism is welcome. 🤗 I'll change things up on the next batch I have printed.
P.S. This is how I built my business 35 years ago, and no doubt, it’s just as effective today – you just gotta get off your ass and make it happen. So, those starting businesses, if you have a target 🎯 market and can see them personally, get out there and do it. 👊

Bringing a set of original 1969 AMC 390 AMX cylinder heads back to life. 🔥

Started out dirty, worn, and full of years of carbon buildup. Complete teardown, thermal cleaning, guide work, valve job, resurfacing, and careful reconditioning to get these classic AMC heads ready to run again.

A lot of precision machine work goes into restoring old-school performance parts correctly. These rare AMX pieces are heading back to the customer looking and performing like they should.

And honestly… I got so excited getting these wrapped up and looking good that I completely forgot to take pictures of the finished cylinder heads assembled. 😂

I was so focused on getting these done and delivered that I forgot to take any “after” pictures. 🤪🤦‍♂️ These are a pair of 390 AMC heads that I updated and fixed, and they'll ultimately be going into a fully restored 1969 AMX. 🤩
My first muscle car was a 1970 AMX with a 360 and nitrous; it was one of the fastest street cars in the Fort Lauderdale/Miami area in the early 1980s. 👊

A couple of old-school Chevrolet and AMC 390 cylinder heads in for teardown and thermal cleaning. Years of carbon, grease, rust, and buildup getting stripped away so we can inspect everything properly and bring these heads back to life the right way.

A lot of people only like seeing the finished product, but this is where the real work starts. Clean parts, careful inspection, and proper machine work make all the difference. 🔥⚙️

Dirty parts before being stripped down and placed in the thermal cleaner. They’re cooking away, and tomorrow they’ll look like brand new. 😎
