Feeling a Shake While You Drive? 🚗

Your vehicle should feel reasonably smooth on the road. If you notice a new or unusual vibration, don’t simply turn up the radio and hope it goes away!

🔍 Where you feel the vibration can provide useful clues:

🛞 Steering wheel — tire, wheel, or steering-related issues may be involved.
🚗 Seat or floorboard — tire, wheel, suspension, or drivetrain problems are possible.
🛑 During braking — brake components may need inspection.
⚙️ During acceleration — drivetrain or engine-related issues could be responsible.

These are only clues, not a diagnosis. Several different problems can cause similar symptoms.

🚨 Safety first: If the shaking is severe or sudden, or you notice a damaged tire, loss of control, or other dangerous symptoms, slow down safely, pull over, and arrange professional assistance.

Don’t ignore what your vehicle is telling you!

That Little Tire Symbol Matters! 🛞

Have you ever started your vehicle and noticed the tire pressure warning light glowing on your dashboard?

That light is your Tire Pressure Monitoring System (TPMS) telling you that one or more tires may be underinflated—or that the system needs attention.

Here’s what you should know:

🛞 Check your tire pressure when the tires are cold.
📖 Follow the recommended pressure on the driver’s door-jamb label, not the maximum pressure printed on the tire.
🔍 Inspect your tires for visible damage.
⚠️ Don’t ignore a warning just because your tires look fine.

Temperature changes can also affect tire pressure!

If the light stays on after correcting the pressure, or flashes before staying illuminated, your vehicle may need further inspection.

Your tires are your vehicle’s connection to the road. Give them the attention they deserve! 🚗

Your Hoses Work Harder Than You Think! 🚗

Under your hood, several hoses help your vehicle operate properly by carrying coolant, air, and other fluids where they need to go.

But over time, heat, age, and normal wear can take their toll!

👀 Here’s what to watch for:

🔍 Cracks or visible damage
💧 Signs of leaking
🧱 Hoses that look swollen or feel unusually soft
🌡️ Signs of overheating

A damaged hose can turn a small maintenance issue into a bigger problem if left unchecked.

💡 Pro tip: Never remove a radiator cap while the engine is hot. Hot coolant is pressurized and can cause serious burns.

Give your vehicle a little attention today so you can enjoy more confident miles tomorrow!

What’s Rolling Around in Your Vehicle? 🚗📦

That grocery bag, toolbox, purse, or water bottle might not seem like a big deal sitting in your vehicle—but loose items can become dangerous when you suddenly brake or get into a collision.

Before heading out, take a moment to check your cargo!

✔️ Secure heavy items so they can’t slide around.
✔️ Keep objects out of the driver’s footwell.
✔️ Make sure nothing blocks your view through the windows.
✔️ Store tools and other heavy equipment securely.
✔️ Keep emergency equipment accessible without leaving it loose.

Even everyday items can become hazards when a vehicle stops suddenly.

A safe drive starts before you put the vehicle in gear! ❤️

Take a minute to tidy up, buckle up, and make sure everything is secure.

From all of us at Sun City Automotive, have a safe Sunday and a wonderful week ahead!

Your Engine Needs a Good Spark! ⚡🚗

Your spark plugs may be small, but they play an important role in helping your engine run!

In gasoline engines, spark plugs ignite the air-fuel mixture inside the cylinders. When spark plugs become worn or develop problems, your vehicle’s performance may suffer.

👀 Watch for these possible warning signs:

⚡ Engine misfires.
🚗 Rough idling.
⛽ Reduced fuel economy.
🔑 Difficulty starting.
💨 Sluggish acceleration.

These symptoms can have several causes, so proper diagnosis is important.

Spark plug replacement intervals vary by vehicle and plug type, so check your owner’s manual to see when yours are due.

Don’t wait for your engine to start struggling before thinking about maintenance!

What’s That Smell? 👃🚗

Your vehicle shouldn’t fill the cabin with unusual exhaust or fuel odors!

If you’ve noticed a strange smell while driving, don’t simply turn up the radio and hope it disappears.

🚨 Pay attention to these warning signs:

💨 Exhaust fumes entering the passenger cabin.
⛽ A strong gasoline smell.
🔥 Unusual burning odors.
🔊 Changes in exhaust noise.
🚗 Visible exhaust smoke that seems unusual for your vehicle.

Some smells can indicate a leak or mechanical problem that needs attention.

IMPORTANT: If you smell exhaust fumes inside the vehicle, pull over somewhere safe, turn off the engine, and get everyone out into fresh air. Don’t continue driving; arrange for professional assistance. Carbon monoxide can be deadly and may not have a detectable smell.

Let Sun City Automotive help identify the source of unusual vehicle odors.

Hearing a Humming or Growling Noise? 🚗

A humming, rumbling, or growling sound that changes as your vehicle moves could be a sign of a wheel bearing problem.

Wheel bearings help your wheels rotate smoothly, making them an important part of your vehicle’s operation.

🚨 Watch for these possible warning signs:

🔊 Humming or growling noises
🛞 Noise that changes with vehicle speed
🚗 Unusual vibration
⚠️ Changes in handling

These symptoms can also have other causes, including tire wear, so a proper inspection is important.

If you notice a new or persistent noise, don’t ignore it. A failing wheel bearing can become a serious safety concern.

Meet Your Vehicle’s VIN! 🔎

Every vehicle has its own unique Vehicle Identification Number, better known as the VIN.

Think of it as your vehicle’s fingerprint! 🔍

Your VIN can help identify important information, including:

🔢 Vehicle manufacturer
🚗 Model and vehicle details
📅 Model year
🏭 Manufacturing information
🔧 Vehicle-specific parts and service information

You can usually find your VIN on the driver’s side of the dashboard near the windshield or on the driver’s door-jamb label.

Knowing where to find it can be helpful when ordering parts, scheduling certain repairs, or checking for recalls.

A little knowledge about your vehicle can go a long way!

Is Your Car Taking Longer to Start? 🔑🚗

When you turn the key or push the start button, your vehicle should start without unusual delays.

If something has changed, it’s worth paying attention!

👀 Does your vehicle:

🔑 Crank longer than normal before starting?
🔋 Click repeatedly when you try to start it?
🚗 Start inconsistently?
⚡ Require multiple attempts to start?

Starting problems can have several causes, including battery issues, starter problems, fuel delivery concerns, or other mechanical or electrical faults.

The sooner you investigate the cause, the better prepared you’ll be to address it.
