We are looking for a diesel mechanic to join our team.
Our diesel mechanic is responsible for maintenance and repair of heavy duty diesel equipment, trucks, trailers and medium duty trucks. Work on light duty engines such as Cummins, Duramax and Powerstrokes may happen as well. The position requires a strong knowledge of diesel engine repair, truck power train repair, transmission repair, tire services and maintenance services. The technician must have basic knowledge of tires, tire changes and tire repairs. This person must be able to work with an extensive array of power tools, jacks, presses, tire tools and other equipment/tools. We would like for the mechanic to have experience using welders, grinders, truck mounted cranes, cutting torches, and various other shop tools. The mechanic will perform preventative and corrective maintenance, failure analysis, diagnostics, inspections and repairs on location with or without supervision. Afterhours, weekends and holidays maybe required to work in this position as a mechanic. Mechanic must have strong attention to detail along with excellent reading and writing skills, as well as be able to maintain accurate records of each repair and turn them in daily. This person must be able to identify worn and damaged parts and know to repair/replace them.
Requirements:
• Must pass background check and drug test
• Clean Motor Vehicle Record
• Minimum 3 years experience as diesel mechanic
• Must have complete set of basic hand tools
• Mechanic must be able to lift at least 75 lbs
Qualifications:
• High school diploma or equivalent
• Vocation or technical degree, or equivalent work experience or training
• Strong communication skills
• Self-motivated
Tasks/Duties:
• Inspect, maintain, diagnose, and repair various diesel-powered equipment
• Order parts and keep track of equipment service schedules.
• Keep accurate service records and inspections
• Complete work in a timely fashion
• Keeps service truck repaired, safe, and maintained
• Follow company policies, and government regulations
• Work to the standards and values of Colorado Equipment
• Work in all weather conditions
