The amazing backstory on how ๐๐๐ธ๐๐๐ฟ๐ฎ ๐ก๐ฎ๐๐ฎ๐น ๐๐ฟ๐ฐ๐ต๐ถ๐๐ฒ๐ฐ๐ concept came to be. ๐
______________
In the early 1960's a ๐๐๐ป๐ฎ๐ฟ๐ถ๐ด concept was developed in Germany to achieve alternative propulsion for commercial shipping during the oil crisis. The idea went into the archives when the crises subsided and no Dynarigs were built.
Visionaire ๐๐ค๐ข ๐๐๐ง๐ ๐๐ฃ๐จ, started the ๐๐๐ก๐ฉ๐๐จ๐ ๐๐๐ก๐๐ค๐ฃ project with an existing Perini hull, he appointed ๐๐๐ธ๐๐๐ฟ๐ฎ ๐ก๐ฎ๐๐ฎ๐น ๐๐ฟ๐ฐ๐ต๐ถ๐๐ฒ๐ฐ๐๐ as the Naval Architects. ๐๐๐ง๐๐ง๐ ๐ฟ๐ฎ๐ ๐จ๐ฉ๐ง๐ came with the suggestion for the Dynarig concept.
After years of designing, improving and testing of the ๐๐๐ป๐ฎ๐ฟ๐ถ๐ด, ๐๐๐ก๐ฉ๐๐จ๐ ๐๐๐ก๐๐ค๐ฃ successfully completed her first sea trial in June 2006. The yacht has 3 free standing carbon fiber masts with each 5 individually sails, each mast can rotate to suit the wind direction. Trimmed by automation and under the control of only one person, while harnessing wind power to reduce fuel costs with less expensive Dacron sails and emitting lower carbon emissions, the ๐๐๐ป๐ฎ๐ฟ๐ถ๐ด of the 21st century is an idea whose time has come.
๐๐ ๐ฝ๐ก๐๐๐ ๐๐๐๐ง๐ก (built by Oceanco) was the second ๐๐๐ป๐ฎ๐ฟ๐ถ๐ด yacht ever built.
