Our clients often ask why a car dealership would provide US with substantially lower numbers for our clients, and often not do that for someone walking in their front doors.

The answer is simple and complicated at the same time.

Automobile STEALerships function on GROSS PROFITS, from multiple profit centers. The make money on the front of deals, middle of deals, (trade and upsell) back of deal (finance rates /insurance products) and departments like service and parts.

Dealerships also function on volume, the more units they sell quickly and in volume, the more cars they get from allocation and the bigger the bonuses from manufacturers, banks etc. Less carrying costs too ! ▶️ That's where broker driven deals come in. The dealer usually doesn't have large costs again the deal and it's quick and easy. Little if any profit on each unit but often brokers can do 8-15 units a month at any single brand. That's 80-130 units a year.

This was in part the fault of the dealership they visited, and irresponsible deal handling due to trade vehicle carrying deficiency.
Ended up owing over $35,000 on a car worth $28k

Fueling advice
