Job Responsibilities under supervision and guidance of the shop manager:
β’ Installing plywood walls, floors, ceiling.
β’ Building and installing plywood cabinets.
β’ Installing Formica.
β’ Installing millwork, flooring and various trim pieces.
β’ Cut, shape, and assemble wood projects with shop tools
β’ Use equipment such as planers, jointers, shaper, routers, sanders, and various power saws.
β’ Assemble aftermarket products based upon project being built.
β’ Read and interpret plans, sketches, and shop drawings for milling and fabrication.
β’ Determine type and dimensions of wood stock to be used.
β’ Maintain and clean equipment and work area.
β’ May perform work of carpenter as assigned.
β’ Some occasional light plumbing when needed (simple Sharkbite / PEX plumbing)
β’ Perform related duties as assigned.
Skills and Abilities:
β’ High school graduation or equivalent and four years of experience as carpenter.
β’ Knowledge of and ability to operate carpenter shop tools and equipment.
β’ Skills in cabinet making.
β’ Ability to lay out construction, remodeling and alteration work.
β’ Ability to read project drawings.
β’ Sufficient strength and physical dexterity to perform duties and responsibilities of this job.
β’ Must be able to wear and use appropriate personal protective equipment, as necessary.
