Congratulations! You've decided that vanlife is for you. We've come up with some simple steps to help you make your dream a reality. 🚐💨

1.👩‍🦱👴Don't Tell Your Friends or Family: You've made the decision and you feel confident about it because vanlife speaks to your soul. Most of your family and friends won't understand and will try to talk you out of it. Don't get talked out of your decision and regret it for the rest of your life.

2.📚Do Research: You've probably already done some research like watching YouTube videos, reading blogs and following vanlife accounts on instagram. Vanlife isn't all sunsets and rainbows either, now is the time to learn about all the negatives and downsides to life on the road. That being said, dreaming and designing your home on wheels to life is one of the most fun parts of the process. Enjoy the learning experience, but do your due diligence to make sure you're ready.

3. 💻 Find an Income Stream: If you have a digital skillset, take advantage of it. If you don't then consider seasonal work (6 months working and 6 months traveling). If you have investments where you don't need to work even better! Income is only half the equation. Don't forget that it also comes down to how much you spend on the road.

4.📺 Sell Your Stuff: You're going to need to strip down to the essentials if you want to fit all your stuff into a van. This is a learning experience in minimalism and excess. Embrace the process and learn from all the junk and possessions you've accumulated. Once you purge your junk you'll always think twice about buying things.

5. 🚌 Buy a Van: If your budget is low, consider an older low top cargo van. You can easily find these for as low as $1,000. You can do the build yourself and all you really need is a bed (insulation, cabinets, fridge, cooktop, heater, fan, plumbing/electrical, etc are all just added levels of comfort/luxury). If you have a higher budget you can get a newer high top cargo van that's already built out. For example .makers 😁🚐💨

3 tools we recommend for life on the road 👇🚐💨

🏕 1.Flat-Jack Air Tire Level - Nobody likes sleeping in an unlevel campsite. Flat jacks are a much more efficient solution to leveling blocks because they take up less space, are more durable, and are easier to use.

🚐 2. Seat Swivels - Seat swivels allow you to use your driver and passenger seats as additional seating for your van. Creating multiple floor plans really allows you to utilize your space to it's maximum potential.

👨‍💻3. Lagun Table - The Lagun table mount is a multipurpose table solution that can be easily configured in a variety of positions. Stand up or regular desk, dining table, bedside table, the possibilities are endless. Especially when you use a second mount in an additional location.

Vanmakers the leading custom camper van builder in South Florida. We have been in business since 2020, are growing rapidly and already have a waiting list of clients. Vanmakers wants our employees to enjoy coming to work every day and we foster a fun, friendly and laid-back environment. Vanmakers also provides a supportive and respectful environment for it's employees. You will be working on exciting and interesting projects.

Job Responsibilities under supervision and guidance of the shop manager:
• Installing plywood walls, floors, ceiling.
• Building and installing plywood cabinets.
• Installing Formica.
• Installing millwork, flooring and various trim pieces.
• Cut, shape, and assemble wood projects with shop tools
• Use equipment such as planers, jointers, shaper, routers, sanders, and various power saws.
• Assemble aftermarket products based upon project being built.
• Read and interpret plans, sketches, and shop drawings for milling and fabrication.
• Determine type and dimensions of wood stock to be used.
• Maintain and clean equipment and work area.
• May perform work of carpenter as assigned.
• Some occasional light plumbing when needed (simple Sharkbite / PEX plumbing)
• Perform related duties as assigned.

Skills and Abilities:
• High school graduation or equivalent and four years of experience as carpenter.
• Knowledge of and ability to operate carpenter shop tools and equipment.
• Skills in cabinet making.
• Ability to lay out construction, remodeling and alteration work.
• Ability to read project drawings.
• Sufficient strength and physical dexterity to perform duties and responsibilities of this job.
• Must be able to wear and use appropriate personal protective equipment, as necessary.

Salary Based On Experience
