Safety PSA: when monitoring for brake wear it is normal to see brake dust on your wheels. That said if you are seeing a build up of rust on otherwise painted surfaces it may be a indicator or metal on metal contact spreading the metal dust all over your wheels causing flash rust. Get your brakes checked and avoid potential costly repairs or worse yet an accident!
