The diesel horsepower wars are heating up! GM has officially unveiled the all-new 8.3L L6P Duramax for the 2027 Silverado HD and Sierra HD.

555 HP / 1,230 FT LBS
Allison 10-speed transmission
38,000 lbs of towing capacity

How will it stack up?
-Ford 6.7L HO Power Stroke: 500 HP / 1,200 FT LBS
-Ram 6.7L Cummins: 430 HP / 1,075 FT LBS

Bigger displacement. Bigger numbers. A new chapter for Duramax.

What’s your take on the new 8.3L?

Baseline dyno testing with our 2026 Ram 2500 6.7! Hard to get these new trucks to load on the rollers so torque was a little lower than it should have been but we still managed to pick up a good amount of power with only a S&B & an Edge Products EZ Module. (540HP/1100 FT LBS)

The Edge module raises ONLY rail pressure to achieve power increase. Someday these Rams will make 625+RWHP when timing, boost and injector pulsewidth can be increased as well!
