Just a reminder that we recommend replacement of cabin filters every 15k miles. This is a recent one we replaced. When it gets this bad, it can affect air flow, air quality, as well as overheat and burnout the air conditioning compressor in certain situations.

Failed emissions? The problem isn’t always obvious.

This 2005 Toyota Camry came into King’s Auto Center after failing its emissions test and showing a lean code. Matt checked for obvious air and vacuum leaks first, then used live data from the vehicle to narrow the problem down to the mass airflow sensor.

Take a look at the old sensor compared to the new one. That buildup can interfere with the sensor’s ability to accurately measure the air entering the engine.

Now the new sensor goes in and the next step is checking the data again to verify the repair actually fixed the problem.

Having check engine light or emissions problems in Fort Collins? We can help diagnose what’s actually going on.

What do we find when we check over a 30 year old Toyota Corolla?

Samuel is back, and this 1995 Corolla gave him plenty to look at. A missing battery hold down, signs of a coolant leak, leaking rear struts, and cracked brake hoses all showed up during the inspection.

The good news? For a car this old, it actually wasn’t as bad as he expected.

Regular inspections can help catch problems early, especially when it comes to safety items like brakes.

Not every drive belt comes off with a tensioner.

On this 2016 Mazda 3, the water pump uses a stretch belt. When it’s time for replacement, the old belt gets cut off and the new one has to be stretched back into place.

Matt walks us through the process, including a little heat to make the new belt easier to work with. And for once, it actually cooperated.

Sometimes the most important repairs are the ones you don't know you need.

This Ford Flex came in for service, and during our inspection we found worn tie rod ends. The owner hadn't noticed any issues, but excessive play in the steering components can lead to loose handling, uneven tire wear, and reduced control on the road.

That's one reason we perform thorough inspections on every vehicle. Catching problems early can help prevent bigger repairs and keep you driving safely.

A check engine light doesn't always tell the whole story.

This Volkswagen came in with an intermittent check engine light and an occasional loss of throttle response. The challenge? The symptoms and the stored codes weren't lining up.

One of the biggest misconceptions about modern vehicles is that a scan tool instantly tells us what's wrong. In reality, trouble codes are often just the starting point.

Good diagnostics means understanding the customer's concern, verifying symptoms, testing the vehicle, and following the evidence. Sometimes that takes more than simply reading codes.

That's why finding the right repair starts with finding the right problem.

Seeing multiple warning lights on your dashboard doesn't always mean multiple things are wrong.

This Subaru came in with a blinking transmission light, check engine light, traction control warnings, and several other systems disabled.

The culprit? A single failed component inside the transmission.

Modern vehicles are more connected than ever. When one system has a fault, it can affect several others and light up the dashboard like a Christmas tree.

That's why proper diagnostics matter. Before replacing parts, we test and verify the actual cause of the problem.
