Hello loyal customers, friends, and family we hope you are doing great.

We wanted to share some bitter sweet news, if you did not hear already. We are saying good bye to all of our customers. Thank you for your loyal and shared experiences with each other. The Lai family will be moving on and enjoying retirement, while we may no longer be in Flushing, we hope fond memories continue to stay with us. We opened in 1986 and had a great 36 years. We pride ourselves in serving 3 generations of customer families, thus becoming part of our family as well.

Along with selling gas and mechanical work, our past services ranged from selling cars to auto body work in three locations. We loved hearing stories of your first car purchase with us, to bringing back your cars from the mechanical dead, and to fixing all sorts of body repair. We truly thank you from the bottom of our hearts-from those that got to know us recently, and to the first ones who walked in the door since day one.

We will be closed starting from Dec 2 for about 2 weeks. We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause.
We are currently suspending drop off service during this time, unless the vehicle has been towed in. We look forward to serving you again when we return.

We are pleased to announce our reopening, I want to thank our great customers who have called and asked about our well being. Thank you, we hope you are all safe and healthy.

Currently we are temporarily taking appointments for service. You can make an appointment by calling in or stopping by. There will be expedited service for front line and essential workers and their families, please mention this when we are scheduling your appointment.

Appointments are going to be made for the day and not for the time of day. We will notify you when the car is ready for pick up. On the day of your appointment, we ask that our customers drop off their vehicles before 10AM. For our mechanic safety there is no waiting inside the vehicles pending service, and of course there is no entry in the repair shop area. We are practicing social distancing, and equipped our workers with sanitizers, disinfectants, and PPE for everyone’s safety.

Also, we know the quarantine shut has prevented many of from leaving home. Therefore, on a case by case basis we decided to extend warranty that may have passed, so if you have any issues please mention it to us. Our commitment to service and community is of the upmost importance. Hope to see you all soon and thank you for supporting small local businesses.

After discussions with our staff and our families we are temporarily closing our auto repair facility.
This decision does not come lightly, as a small business we remain committed to service and to our local community more than ever. That includes the safety of our working families and customers traveling to us. We will continue to monitor the situation in our great city and hoping for the best possible outcome. Our gas station and convenience store will remain open.
Please be safe, responsible, and healthy. We are in this together.

As the outbreak of the coronavirus COVID-19 continues to evolve, we at Lai’s Auto Service are working to ensure your experience with us remains safe.
Deemed a NYC Essential Business we will be opened for service. However, we will be potentially operating limited service hours and may experience service delays. In the current situation we hope for cooperation and patience from our customers.
The health and safety of our customers remains of highest priority. We are working with our service personnel to make sure our site is more frequently cleaned and sanitized - from fuel nozzles to store countertops to all the door handles.
We also recognize that convenience store represents a quick and easy resource for purchasing food and beverage items. We are focused on keeping these essential items in stock and on the shelves for you.
We continue to monitor the latest developments surrounding COVID-19 and guidance from the Centers for Disease Control (CDC), World Health Organization (WHO) and local and national authorities – and will respond in ways that are consistent with our mission to provide you with the experience you expect.

Happy Lunar New Year! Year of the Rooster. We hope all of our customers take the time to enjoy the holiday. In observation of the holiday, the repair shop will be closed, Saturday Jan 28.

We will reopen for business Monday Jan 30 at 8AM.

In observation of Labor Day, Lai's Auto Service will be closed Monday Sept 7. We will reopen Tuesday Sept 8, at 8AM.

Fun fact - the first Labor Day was first celebrated in New York 1882! If you have off, please enjoy the holiday!
