This 57 dodge custom royal has been in the shop for a little bit. After the better part of three decades being dormant, it’s back on the road. All new brakes with dual master, radiator, fuel tank, tires, a little rust repair and it drives again as a survivor. Definitely don’t see these often.

Pretty good start. Whole lotta clean up ahead. Gonna be nice when it’s done though. It’s a jeep thang!

And that’s a wrap on rust repair! Pulled it outside to blow it off and get some sun. Some epoxy up next.

Workin on the last little bit of rust on the Torino. Had a donor piece that turned out to be a little too rough. But it gave me the shape I needed. Made a little wood buck form and hammered one out. Still have to repair the wheel well and trunk drop off. Almost there!! 😮‍💨

Little Sunday trim resto. All trim is from a 1956 ford. All in all, it’s not in bad shape. Nothing a little hammer and file work can’t fix. All the dents are now removed, filed and DA sanded with 80 grit. More sanding all the way up to 1200 and then polish. The little hammer in the last picture is the only thing I’ve used for this work. It was given to me by someone 20 years ago. His skills in this type of work were amazing. He unfortunately passed away about 6 years ago, but I think of him every time I use this little hammer.

And that’s a wrap for the week! Door and fender all gapped out. Just a small bit of rust to take care of on the rear of the quarter. Hood gaps aren’t really that bad. But like the rest of the car, it can be better.

More work on the Torino. Got the passenger fender all repaired and put on for initial fit. Had to cut both fender braces out to access the backsides. Gonna take a little to get it dialed in, but not terrible

1940 Chevy business coupe in the shop! While the 292 was different and kind of cool, a small block is still way cooler. So that’s what’s going in. Also installed power steering and going to be putting A/C in as well. The 5 speed posed a bit of a problem with the small block. No more room for a mechanical clutch. Switching over to a hydraulic setup with some custom brackets. Should be a sweet ride when it’s done!
