My house is clean, the fridge and pantry are stocked and the beds and blowup beds are ready for my family who start arriving tonight. Over the next three days all my kids and grand kids and my sister, brother in law and their kids and grandkids are all arriving and staying in our home as we prepare for my dads 90th birthday celebration this Saturday. People have asked me how do you sleep 18 people in your home. Let me tell you, every single space is being utilized. It might seem crazy to some but honestly we all love being together.
I leave you today with this quote from the movie “Zorba The Greek” - “I'm a man, so I married. Wife, children, house, everything. The full catastrophe.” My dad always says when we are all together. We are “the full catastrophe! 🤣🇬🇷🇺🇸
My look today was all shopped from my closet except for my gifted corduroy shacket which is available in a handful of colors. Also, this shacket is perfect for now and for going into spring because it’s a lightweight corduroy. I rolled up the sleeves because they were a little long and I’m wearing a size Small. Do you ever find yourself just staring at your closet wishing that an outfit would just put itself together?
Sometimes we just need a little help or inspiration to create new looks with clothes and accessories we already have. Here are a few tips to creating looks with items you already own.
1. The easiest way to build an outfit is with color. Pull one item out and then build a look around that one item and color.
2. Pair items that you’ve never worn before together.
3. Don’t worry if something is too casual or too dressy. Don’t let those words hinder you from creating a look.
4. Experiment with different ways to style pieces together. Try tucking or knotting or layering to create a new look.
5. Try different footwear and accessories with your look. You might be surprised what works and doesn’t work.
The next time you are standing in your closet staring at your clothes try some of these ideas and see what new look you can put together. Do you have any other ideas we can add to this list? If so, please share in the comments below.

“The best things happen unexpectedly!”
Tonight we were out for dinner at our favorite sushi restaurant in the little town where we live. While we were at our table I saw a very nice looking guy walk in the restaurant. I immediately recognized him but didn’t say anything to my family. Later in the evening he walked by our table and I told my family that he was a Hallmark Movie channel actor. My daughter totally agreed with me. When he walked back by we knew it was
I jokingly told my family I’m going to get a picture with him. 😉 Well, our daughter went right over to his table where he was having dinner with his wife and told him her mom was a fan and would love a picture. He was so nice and told her to come on over when we were finished with dinner. Well, much to our surprise he walked over to our table and said “Hi mom!” He was so sweet and kind to take time out from his dinner to come over and say hello.
If you aren’t a Hallmark fan you probably recognize Wes from his recurring role on the HBO vampire series True Blood, playing former football player and vampire hater, Luke. He also has appeared in numerous TV shows including Criminal Minds, Beach Girls, NCIS: New Orleans, Hart of Dixie, CSI: Miami, Desperate Housewives, Private Practice, Once Upon a Time (he played Gaston!), and even the reboot of Twin Peaks. Recently he even appeared opposite Harrison Ford in the film The Call of the Wild.
But most really love Wes for his many Hallmark original movies. This year he starred in Haul Out The Holly. You also might remember him starring opposite Kellie Pickler in Christmas at Graceland and Wedding at Graceland. He also played Clark Davis in the prequels to Love Comes Softly -- Love Begins, Love's Everlasting Courage, and Love's Christmas Journey. A few more favorites are Under the Autumn Moon, Check Inn To Christmas and Christmas Cookies.
Besides being one of Hallmarks best leading men, Wes is also an exceptional musician.

“Home, a gathering place for a family to join together in laughter. The one place you will always be surrounded by those who love you. A place or feeling of belonging.”
I love the holidays because that means my home will be filled with family and friends, laughter and joy.
Four of our five kids are able to make it home for the Thanksgiving Day holiday this year. They started arriving on Monday, some yesterday and the rest today. As each one walks in the door my heart bubbles up with joy knowing we will have this time together. Do you have family coming in or are you spending the holiday somewhere else?
Whether you are going home or staying home this year I pray you have a beautiful Thanksgiving Day holiday as you give thanks to the Lord for all the good in your life that has come your way this past year.

No matter what your Thanksgiving plans are this year, the real pressing question is: what are you going to wear?

One day I’d love to visit and explore Montauk, New York. Montauk is a peninsula jutting out towards the continental shelf located on the easternmost tip of Long Island. With its countless miles of beaches.
It wasn't until 1665 that Wyandanch, the grand sachem of the Montauk tribe, gave the settlers the right to pasture their livestock on Montauk. In 1686 the Montauk Indians sold Montauk to a group of East Hampton settlers, known as the proprietors, who owned the land in joint trust for almost 200 years.
Today Montauk is known for beautiful beaches, like Ditch Plains; oceanfront places to stay; things to do for kids; fishing; surfing; paddling; seafood restaurants; nature trails; events; music and art festivals; and miles and miles of the most beautiful beaches. Today we woke up to temps around 49 degrees for the first time this season and it will be the first day we have 60 something for a high. I’m so excited so I’m planning a pot of chili for dinner and an apple crisp for dessert. I’m also going to wear fall clothes and not sweat today. Woooo Hoooo!!
