ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

This position requires up to 25% travel. Travel to include local (day) trips and some overnights. Overnights may be 2-3 nights every 2-3 months or so.
Receive, quality check, label all incoming inventory
Compares quantity and part number of items received with procurement data and other specifications to ensure completeness and accuracy of order.
Inspects purchased parts & materials for conformance to specifications.
Examines items for defects in materials, workmanship, and damage occurring in transit, inspects and measures items for dimensional accuracy, fit, alignment, and functional operation, according to prints, company standards, and other specifications.
Approves or rejects items, and records inspection and disposition information.
Reviews certification document package to ensure compliance to Purchase Order and Specification Requirements.
Resolve any issues/discrepancies with the material supplier.
Periodic Travel to Material Suppliers to perform dimensional inspections and surveillance
Perform internal audits as required.
Interface with Customer and Government representatives regarding material compliance and resolve issues as necessary.
Provide written reports as required.
Other duties as assigned.
SKILLS & ABILITIES:

Education: High school graduate, or the equivalent.

Experience: Minimum of two years of Inspection experience in an industrial environment. Experience with Government contracts is a plus.

Computer Skills: Computer skills required. Must have a working knowledge of ERP systems and Microsoft applications such as Word, Excel, and Outlook.

ADDITIONAL SKILLS & ABILITIES:

Must have the ability to work on multiple projects within the same day.
Must have the ability to follow directions, work independently and with minimal supervision
Must be detail-oriented
Must apply individual initiative to accomplish the necessary inspections and conduct audits to assure compliance with required processes.
Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
Must have the ability to analyze/interpret production and technical data.
Must be detail oriented and organized – Attention to detail required assuring that dimensional inspection/NDE requirements are met and documented.
Must be willing to travel as needed.

We are seeking placement for a WELD ENGINEER to provide welding engineering expertise in the application of technically sound and cost-effective welding procedures, and with the effective ex*****on and completion of moderate to complex welding engineering functions. This includes assisting in the development and qualifications of procedures, providing technical guidelines driving manufacturing, and resolving weld-related problems.

The successful candidate will have a B.S. in Welding Engineering, Metallurgical Engineering, or Welding Technology, plus at least ten (10) years as a welding engineer in a heavy industrial environment or demonstrates successful experience.

Will consider a four (4) year trade school graduate to work hand's on in the engineering group and will transition into a lead weld engineer position.

Other requirements:

Must have knowledge of basic metal joining and metallurgical principles and their application to industrial problems.
Must have the ability to identify root causes of specific welding problems and to initiate corrective actions.
Must have excellent computer skills and the ability to work collaboratively with others.
Must have excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Must be capable of taking a leadership role.
US Citizenship is required at time of hire.
