Made a little progress this weekend. I don’t do exhaust work often enough, so I spend a good bit of time plotting and planning when setting up an exhaust.

Last year when I did all the suspension work on the truck, I did a temporary short “race truck” exhaust that dumped right in front of the axle (last picture). The truck is so low to the ground that it droned horribly in the cab. So this weekend I moved the mufflers to point the exhaust out both sides. I got everything mocked up and tacked in place… next up is to figure out exactly what I want to do for exhaust tips.

Building race cars is fun, and even the tedious challenges like exhaust work make me happy. Just another weekend at AllieCat Customs!

Hey y’all!! I’m happy to announce that AllieCat Customs has finally opened the shop doors again and is getting fired back up!

After my health scare last August, I needed to take some time off to get things handled. Recently I’ve done a bunch of work behind the scenes including finishing up a bunch of videos that were in mid production when I took a break. I’m also filming new content, and I posted my first video yesterday! I also went back and fixed the descriptions in my old videos to include what parts and tools you see in each video to help you purchase the parts and tools you need to get your project built.

Thank y’all for all the kind words and support… it means more to me than you could imagine… and to those of y’all just now tuning in, welcome! It’s time to build hotrods!

So I made some progress on the truck this weekend. Pulled the fuel cell, set pinion angle, shock and anti-roll mount locations, and once everything was tacked in place I set the housing on my table and welded everything up.

Next up is to fab up brake lines for the axle, then paint everything and start final install.

Won’t be long and we will be taking this bad lil Silverado to the track! 😎🚜💨

Chandler and Kole came by the shop yesterday to help with the heavy work of yanking the old 10-bolt out.

I got the perches re-drilled for the offset pins and we set the fabricated 9” housing in place to start the install process.

Man… that 9” sure looks beefy sitting under there. 😎🚜💨

Shop day helping the next generation turn wrenches. 😎🚜💨

Chandler’s son, Kole had the water pump go out on his Challenger, so we walked him through replacing it. Nothing fancy, just learning how to tear it down, and put it back together the right way.

Always good seeing young guys getting interested in working on their own cars instead of just dropping them off somewhere.

We also got to break out the vacuum fill kit to refill the cooling system the easy way. That thing is a game changer.

Just another day in the shop at AllieCat Customs.
