The first speeding ticket was issued in 1902. I wonder how fast that car was going and what the speed limit actually was.

Have a great Friday.

Driver ed classroom training in the 80s sure was differenet than it is today. Thank goodness we have evolved.

Most 1980s programs were offered for free or at a low cost directly through public high schools, often as a required or elective credit.

Before touching a real car, many students in the 80s spent a week or more in driving simulators like the one in the picture. They featured realistic muscle-car steering wheels, dashboards, and pedals but were stationary.

Students sat in these pods (sometimes arranged in a classroom or a specialized trailer) while a movie was projected at the front.

The "cars" were often wired to a master console where the instructor could see if a student failed to signal or reacted too slowly to a filmed hazard, like a child running into the street.

We've come a long way, but one thing that has not changed is the commitment to Safety. Safety is our number one priority at Cardinal Driving School.

Every vehicle has blind spots—those areas you can’t see in your mirrors. And guess what? That’s where other cars love to hide.

Before you change lanes:
✔️ Check your mirrors
✔️ Look over your shoulder
✔️ Signal early
✔️ Move with confidence

A quick glance could prevent a serious accident. It only takes a second—but it can make all the difference.

At Cardinal Driving School, we teach students how to spot danger before it becomes a problem. Safe habits start here.
