❤️ WEDNESDAY MORNING DEVOTION ❤️

A STRONG COMMUNITY DOESN’T JUST TALK ABOUT LOVE — IT LIVES IT.

Good Morning, Felicity. ❤️

There’s something special about a small town.

When someone is sick, word travels. When a family loses someone, people show up. When somebody is struggling, a meal appears, a prayer is whispered, a hand reaches out, or somebody quietly asks, “What can I do?”

That is community.

And James reminds us that our faith was never meant to be something we simply hear on Sunday or read in our Bible.

“But be ye doers of the word, and not hearers only…” — James 1:22 KJV

God calls us to do something with the love He has given us.

Check on the neighbor you haven’t seen lately.
Call the friend who’s been unusually quiet.
Help the elderly person struggling with their groceries.
Feed someone who’s hungry.
Forgive somebody.
Encourage a child.
Pray for the family going through something nobody else knows about.

A strong community isn’t one where nobody struggles.

It’s one where nobody has to struggle alone.

And when we’re tired from carrying one another, God promises something beautiful:

“The LORD will give strength unto his people; the LORD will bless his people with peace.” — Psalm 29:11 KJV

So today, Felicity, let’s not just talk about being a close community.

Let’s be one.

🙏 Father, thank You for our little community. Give strength to those who are tired, peace to those who are worried, healing to those who are hurting, and comfort to those who are grieving. Open our eyes to the people around us who need a helping hand. Teach us to be doers of Your Word—to love, serve, forgive, encourage and show up for one another. Bless Felicity and every family who calls this place home. In Jesus’ name, Amen. ❤️

❤️ TUESDAY MORNING DEVOTION — WHEN SOMEONE WAS SICK, JESUS CAME CLOSE ❤️

Good Morning, Felicity.

There’s something beautiful we see over and over in the Bible: when someone was sick, hurting, frightened, or forgotten, Jesus didn’t avoid them. He moved toward them.

When a man with leprosy came to Jesus—a man others were afraid even to touch—Jesus reached out His hand and touched him.

When Peter’s mother-in-law was sick with a fever, Jesus went to her.

When blind men cried out from the roadside, Jesus stopped.

When a father was terrified for his sick child, Jesus listened.

And when people carried their hurting friends to Him because those friends couldn’t get there themselves, Jesus made room for them.

That tells us something about how we should treat one another.

Sometimes we can’t cure what someone is facing. We don’t always have the right words. We can’t take away every diagnosis, every pain, or every frightening unknown.

But we can show up.

We can make the phone call.
Take over a meal.
Sit beside someone who’s scared.
Pray with them.
Check on the caregiver who’s exhausted.
Notice the person who suddenly isn’t around.

Because sometimes the most Christ-like thing we can do is simply make sure somebody knows, “You are not going through this alone.”

Jesus didn’t ask the sick what they could do for Him first. He saw their need and showed them compassion.

Maybe that’s our challenge for Felicity this Tuesday: look around. Someone in our little community may need more than a “hope you feel better.” They may need somebody to actually care.

“I was sick, and ye visited me.” — Matthew 25:36 KJV

🙏 Father, we lift up every sick and hurting person in our community today. Be near those waiting on answers, those recovering, those fighting battles quietly, and the families caring for them. Give us eyes to notice when someone needs us and hearts willing to show up. Help Felicity be the kind of community where nobody has to hurt alone. In Jesus’ name, Amen. ❤️

Seriously… where did this year go?! It feels like we were just kicking off summer, and now September is knocking on the door. Before we know it, we’ll be talking pumpkins, hoodies, falling leaves and all those good comfort-food days. 😂🍁

❤️ MONDAY MORNING DEVOTION — GIVE GOD WHAT YOU CAN’T CONTROL ❤️

Good Morning, Felicity.

Monday morning has a way of showing up with a whole list of things already running through our minds.

What needs done.
What went wrong yesterday.
What somebody said.
What we’re worried might happen tomorrow.

And before our feet even hit the floor, our minds can already be exhausted.

But Scripture gives us another way:

“Be careful for nothing; but in every thing by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known unto God.” — Philippians 4:6 KJV

There are things you simply cannot control.

You cannot rewrite yesterday.
You cannot control another person’s heart.
You cannot know what tomorrow will bring.
And you were never meant to carry every possibility around in your head.

But you can pray.

Tell God what hurts. Tell Him what scares you. Tell Him what you don’t understand. Hand Him the situation you’ve replayed a hundred times—and then ask Him for the strength not to pick it right back up.

Trust doesn’t mean we know what’s coming.

Trust means we know Who is already there.

And Revelation 21:4 reminds us that this difficult world isn’t the end of the story. A day is coming when God will wipe away every tear. Pain and sorrow do not get the final word.

So, Felicity, begin this Monday differently.

Before the worry—pray.
Before the overthinking—pray.
Before deciding you have to fix everything—pray.

Father, quiet our minds this morning. Take the things we cannot control and replace our worry with Your peace. Help us trust You with yesterday, today, and whatever tomorrow brings. Watch over our families, our neighbors, and our little community. Let us walk into this new week knowing we don’t walk into it alone. In Jesus’ name, Amen. ❤️

❤️ SUNDAY MORNING DEVOTION — WALKING TOGETHER IN FAITH ❤️

Good Morning, Felicity.

There are some roads God never intended us to walk alone.

Life has a way of making us believe we should handle everything ourselves. We quietly carry the worry. We hide the hurt. We tell everyone we’re fine. Sometimes we even pull away from people when what our heart needs most is connection.

But God created something beautiful when He created community.

Hebrews tells us:

“And let us consider one another to provoke unto love and to good works: Not forsaking the assembling of ourselves together… but exhorting one another.” — Hebrews 10:24–25 KJV

Those words — “consider one another” — matter.

Look around.

Who hasn’t been themselves lately?
Who could use a phone call?
Whose porch could use a visitor?
Who needs somebody to sit beside them and simply listen?
Who needs to hear, “I’m praying for you, and you don’t have to carry this by yourself”?

Faith isn’t only about our individual relationship with God. It’s also about what happens when His people show up for one another.

Sometimes your faith will encourage mine.

Sometimes I’ll be strong enough to help carry you.

And sometimes we’ll both be tired, sit down together, pray, and trust God to carry us both.

That’s community.

And that’s something worth protecting here in Felicity.

So this Sunday, go to church if you’re able. Sit beside somebody. Shake a hand. Hug somebody you love. Call the person God keeps putting on your heart. Pray with your family. Make room at your table.

Because you never know when your small act of love may be the answer to somebody else’s prayer.

Father, thank You for giving us one another. Draw our community closer to You and closer to each other. Help us notice the lonely, encourage the discouraged, pray for the hurting, and celebrate with those experiencing joy. Teach us to walk together in faith, loving one another the way You have loved us. Amen. ❤️
