Sticky clutch plates are fairly common when a bike has been sitting for a while. It doesn’t mean there is anything wrong with the clutch unless you notice other symptoms as well, like the clutch slipping under load. I prefer this warm up method over “shocking” the plates loose by popping it into gear until they free up. That might be faster but it’s harder on the clutch and could damage the friction plates. One other good option is to roll the bike to get it in gear and just start riding it. Usually within a few shifts the plates frees up!
