💔 HE DIDN’T ASK TO BE ABANDONED… Meet MAVERICK💔

This poor boy was abandoned at St. Francois State Park, left behind by the person he trusted. Now he’s sitting in the pound, confused, scared, and waiting for someone to show him that not every person is going to give up on him.

He is a male Shar Pei boxer mix and is already neutered. We’re still learning about him, but it’s clear that life hasn’t been very kind to him.

He seems to be afraid of men and can become a little snappy when he’s scared or uncomfortable around them. He has also shown food aggression, so he will need an experienced, patient adopter who understands that trust may take time. Outside of the kennel, he seems to do much better and is able to relax more.

He isn’t a “bad dog.” He’s a scared dog who was abandoned and now needs the right person willing to give him a chance. ❤️‍🩹

We know he won’t be the right fit for every home, and that’s okay. We’re looking for that special someone who can give him patience, structure, space, and the forever love he deserves.

⏰ He has to be out by September 16th.

Please don’t let being abandoned at the state park be the end of his story. Even if you can’t adopt, PLEASE SHARE. His person may be out there — they just have to see him. 🐾💔

Join us Friday, September 11, at our home football game for a special evening focused on bringing our school and community together. This is more than a football game. It is a night to honor those who serve, celebrate our students, and strengthen the connections that make our community special.

HONOR
We will recognize veterans, active-duty military and first responders, including law enforcement, firefighters, EMS/paramedics and dispatchers. Pregame activities will include military and first responder recognition and the carrying of the American flag as we remember and honor those who serve.

PRIDE
We invite ALL athletes and activities to be part of the evening “meet & greet under the tent event” to communicate with the community as we celebrate.

UNITY
Come meet our Superintendent, Dr. Hardy, and officially welcome her to our school community. Our Board of Education will also be present to meet families, students, staff and community members, answer questions, hear ideas and connect with our community.
